I'm surprised Camilla is doing it. I'm not a fan of the show as it seems to be just about humiliating celebs for the public's rather ghoulish amusement. Also a programme that reinvented Jordan to me isn't a good thing...with the prospect of her being back in there as well.

I wish Camilla well but really wish she hadn't decided to do this. It just seems a waste as Cassie said of a very talented lady.

I do look forward to seeing her fitness spot on GMTV though

Sad trivia for you...

Both 'SCD' and 'I'm A Celebrity, Where's My Pay Cheque?' share something in common. Both feature Hollyoaks actors. Stuart Manning used to be in Hollyoaks and he's now in I'm A Celebrity. Ricky Whittle is still in Hollyoaks. Ali Bastian used to be in Hollyoaks too although she defected to The Bill. It's Hollyoaks reality tv hell!

It's weird how people become actors - do that for a few years - then have new (albeit short) careers as reality tv stars! Assuming you can find decent regular work, acting must pay better.

Well, if she really feels like she has to do IACGMOOH to up her profile and get presenting jobs or whatever, I hope it works out for her I admit though, I rather feel let down by her decision, is she THAT desperate for work

Good luck to Camilla though, I hope she's one of the 'stand out' participants and gets into the final

Laila Rouass also used to be on Oaks. I'm quite enjoying the amount of Oaks people past and present appearing on other things at the moment.

RE Camilla, will be interesting to see her in the jungle although I hope that it doesn't mean that she is leaving dancing behind in order to try and appear on any old programme that will "up her profile". It seems a bit early for her to need to do this but if it's what she wants then all the best to her I guess.

Eh? Camilla is 35, has danced all her life and will only be on I'm a celeb for a few weeks...It's not like she'll never dance again, is it?

Anyway, I'm very chuffed for her for being able to carry on her career in the media and even more chuffed for me that I'll be able to watch it

Good Luck Cam!

I don't think that was what Cassie said. She said it was a waste of her talents which to be honest it is. Camilla is very talented but you don't need that in the jungle you on the whole need to appeal to the lowest common denominator at least to avoid being tortured on a regular basis in the bush tucker trials.

I'd love to see Camilla in more presenting roles and increasing her media profile but not this way.I'm not entirely sure it's the right impression to give as I tend to associate I'm a Celeb with desperate wannabees and I wouldn't ever put Camilla in that category.(Not a big reality TV show fan in case you hadn't noticed...I can love programmes that teach them a skill but not one that relies purely on humiliation for the delctation of the audience)

If it was my favourite doing it I'd be torn (and have been in the past!) partly delighted because I get to see more of them and partly Oh God why do that (whilst understanding the limited shelf life of a dancer) and yes I'd also be like you Stu and ready to sally forth on my charger to defend them against all naysayers despite my own doubts on the subject

I think Camilla will handle it well, she seems to have the strength and sense to come across very well, rather than desperate, and I wish her all the luck with it. I think the celebs in this year have been really unlucky as they wouldn't have known when they signed up that they were taking part in the Katie Price comeback show. If Jordan's in it, I don't intend to watch (though I might weaken a bit just to see Camilla) but I hope it brings Camilla a lot of new fans.

I do remember some actor I can't remember which one complaining that due to the huge number of reality based TV shows affects how many roles are available for actors, although I clearly wouldn't know if that claim is born out with proper evidence.

Also I think as acting jobs go soaps aren't that well paid as the actors are salaried rather than paid per job, so you get a bit of security but less cash.

These reality shows probably represent the chance to make a lot of money very quickly and easily, it's easy to judge but for some of those that end up on these shows I imagine it's just a way to pay the mortgage.

I think it's a shame she feels the need to lower herself to this level. The programme is a shop window for washed up trash trying to resurrect a long-dead career - not a description I'd associate with her at all.

I honestly dont understand that attitude ,She chooses to go in the jungle . It may not be your cup of tea admittedly , but you dont have to watch
She is harming no one , she is not being offensive, she is not bad mouthing or being rude ,so why on earth would you loose respect .?

Because she's prepared to debase herself and throw away any vestiges of dignity by whoring herself out to a bottom of the barrel gameshow aimed at an audience who will watch anything that's put in front of them as long as it doesn't involve thinking.

The premise of the show is to ritually humiliate end of the pier former celebs in return for the chance of a few more hours in the spotlight and a paycheque larger than they've received in years.

Turn the question around - how could you possibly have any respect for someone appearing on that?

Everybody is entitled to make their money how they please , as long as she is not harming you or me or anyone else , I allow people to make up their own mind without sitting in sanctomonius judgement on them ,
I reserve my lack of respect for those who commit crime , who are rude who are disrespecfull to others

That's got nothing to do with your original question, which was why you would lose respect for someone appearing on the show. Whether someone has the right to make their own decisions about their career (which should be self-evident), is irrelevant.

Tuffers did it the right way. The Jungle first, then the Ballroom.

I can only conclude that Camilla just wants to make some quick dosh, and who can blame her? It's not like ballroom dancers earn footy player type wages.

I'd do it for a decent slug of dosh - not that anyone will offer. If she's canny, she'll be dull, boring, not worth broadcasting much and escape with pride just about intact.

I don't think enough is being made here of the double contracts, jungle + GMTV. Camilla has signed up to be a GMTV product, and this product is now being "placed" on IAC to raise its profile.
I suspect that many if not most GMTV viewers also watch the jungle, and it works vice versa too. If even 3% of the much larger IAC audience then tune in to GMTV for the first time, to watch Camilla's fitness slot, then the ratings guys will be happy.

Sounds brutal but that's the way PR works. It's the foundation of every single chat show, and reality shows are just a gold-star version of chat shows, the ultimate publicity tour if you're successful.

IF you're successful, that is. I'm sure that Camilla's agent has taught her a mantra. "Smile and laugh, smile and laugh!". It worked for Phil. Camilla doesn't even need to win the thing, but only to show that she's a "good sport".

Camilla left Strictly claiming she would no longer have time as she wanted to get more involved in running a business. But she has time to visit the jungle? The mind boggles slightly, but if it's what she wants to do, good luck to her. I think anyone with the pluck to agree to take part in that show deserves a medal!!

I suppose you could argue she's going on the show whilst SCD is on so it's not as if she cares about SCD! She won't know who gets eliminated in the next few weeks because she'll be in the jungle. I guess she doesn't have any loyalty to SCD but that's her choice.
