Camilla left Strictly claiming she would no longer have time as she wanted to get more involved in running a business. But she has time to visit the jungle? The mind boggles slightly, but if it's what she wants to do, good luck to her. I think anyone with the pluck to agree to take part in that show deserves a medal!!
Well IAC takes up a lot less time (a couple of weeks) than SCD which can take up six months (including the tour) of a professional dancer's life.

So it is possible not to have time to do SCD for six months, but have time to do IAC for two weeks.

I heard Camilla was doing IACGMOH the same day I heard she was replacing Mr Motivator on GMTV.

My thoughts were no way would she do IACGMOH and replacing Mr Motivator on GMTV was a great move for her.

Personally I am very surprised as IACGMOH does not fit in with my image of Camilla. I am not a fan of the show and agree it attracts some 'celebs' who are pretty desperate for public attention. I mean Katie Price going back in, just how desperate is that?

Camilla has also said she will be packing a bikini to emulate 2006 contestant Myleene Klass. Now much as I like Camilla, she is very thin and does not have the shapely body of Myleene Klass. I think she will do well as she has a great personality, but I can only think money is the big attraction of the show. I am a bit disappointed that she is doing the show, but it is her life.

That's got nothing to do with your original question, which was why you would lose respect for someone appearing on the show. Whether someone has the right to make their own decisions about their career (which should be self-evident), is irrelevant.

I was answering your post that asked me how I could respect someone who in your words " was whoring themselves on a TV show like that "
I answered thus by making it clear that I reserve my lack of respect for people who dissrespect me or others , or harm me or others, I dont disrespect people who mind their own business and earn their money how they see fit

Who are we to judge Camilla for her appearence on a show . ? I certainly wont judge her or loose respect , its her business not mine ,If I dont like the show I know where the remote control is .

I don't watch I'm a celeb, but I did read the list of contestants - and I've heard of hardly any of them.

I'm familiar with Camilla of course, Gino d'Campo and Jimmy White.

I can understand Jimmy White doing it - ex snooker star, probably looking to boost his profile - but neither Camilla nor Gino need this sort of exposure.

Still it's their prerogative - and if they look on it as the opportunity to make a quick buck for a couple of weeks work, it's not for us to judge them - and there's no denying that the show's opened doors for previous winners.

Because she's prepared to debase herself and throw away any vestiges of dignity by whoring herself out to a bottom of the barrel gameshow aimed at an audience who will watch anything that's put in front of them as long as it doesn't involve thinking.

The premise of the show is to ritually humiliate end of the pier former celebs in return for the chance of a few more hours in the spotlight and a paycheque larger than they've received in years.

Turn the question around - how could you possibly have any respect for someone appearing on that?
Absolutely.

To go from using her outstanding talent and being a respected professional to eating kanagroo testicles in order to raise her profile is about the saddest decline I can think of.

I have no idea what she's thinking of, but I can only think I've mis-judged who she was.

Really? I can think of many many more with very little effort

For example, the level of debate in the last couple of years on DS has become increasingly ill-humoured and out of proportion to the subject

Hey Buddy! We've both been similarly disappointed this year about someone doing a show we didn't think they should do

...and we agree that it's 'her life' too

Funny old World, innit?

In Strictly terms? Please tell me you're joking? I hardly know where to start if we're talking about declining standards in 'Strictly terms'

No I'm not joking, why would I be?

Brendan did that Love Island thing which was pretty bad but a.) it was not even in the same league of hideousness as I'm a Celeb and b.) he carried on with Strictly so not a decline, more of a blip. Anton on that wall thing? Eh, that's just cheese and he is also still on the show. If you can give me an example of another pro who has had such a sad decline as to go from much loved professional dancer to eating live animals and swimming through sh*t live on television do please let me know.

I'm referring to declining standards within the show violet_creme, not what anyone gets up to outside of it

I'm baffled as to why it should bother you so much though? It's not like she'll be doing it for the rest of her life...

Why would you say its a decline , who are we to judge what is someones decline or not . Maybe Camilla always wanted to do it , maybe she is chuffed to do it , maybe it was a dare . How do we know and more importantly why judge if its a decline or not .
One mans hideousness is anothers mans enjoyment .I dont sit in judgement on what you enjoy .There are some who would equally calll SCD awful TV .

I still say I reserve my judgement for people who do harm to me or others , every one else is fully entitled to do what they see fit

Well according to the Rags she`ll get 65k for 2wks work....Katie Price is rumoured to be getting 350k....The question is what would you do if you were offered 65k for a 2wk stint in the jungle....What is really sad is that if the rumours about the fee`s paid to the professional dancers on Strictly are true, then she`ll get more for her 2wk stay in the jungle than for 3 series of SCD.....If she plays her cards right and takes a bit of advice from Tuffers then she could set her self up for life.....Some on this site may think it very sad that she`s appearing on IACGMOH.....but who are we to judge....For all we know she may love the show.....I know some of the celebs that have appeared on Celebrity BB were fans of the show....and yes the money was great...but they wanted to go into the BB house because they were fans of the show.

Yep! That's what pro dancers are valued at by the beeb...It's always been a major gripe but they're not considered on the same level as celebs All the more reason, if you have some options, of hanging up your dancing shoes and taking more lucrative and less strenuous offers.

No. I expect she gets paid more than for SCD. I thought she was a serious dancer.

Knowing how the media works I'd put money on the her new GMTV bosses having 'persuaded' her to do I'm a celeb, in the same way Natasha K was 'persuaded' to do SCD by hers.

It may even have been part of the deal. It appears to have been part of Peter Andre's that he cover I'm a celeb in his role as showbiz reporter for GMTV.

A few weeks in the jungle isn't going to affect her passion about dance Spinaker5 She's been doing it since she was 2 and will probably still be staggering round at 72

It is! I thought she's get more than £65K - at least £100 even.

Knowing how the media works I'd put money on the her new GMTV bosses having 'persuaded' her to do I'm a celeb, in the same way Natasha K was 'persuaded' to do SCD by hers.

That's a very good point and I can see how that could be the case.

I didn't know about Peter Andre - that could be very awkward then if Katie Price is also taking part again.

I don't think they persuaded her - perhaps she hopes that a TV career will come out of it although it is more difficult these days - last year's winner has recently been declared bankrupt. I can't really see it happening as she has already had a lot of exposure on SCD. I suppose it depends how she does. Or maybe the money has tempted her. I don't know what acting work her fiance has right now. Her new job as Ms Motivator will not bring her so much as it isn't a daily spot and is a relatively minor part of the program. So neither has a secure job.

Peter Andre is This Morning's showbiz reporter and as an ex-jungle inmate he would be the natural choice to report for the program. So I don't think the two can be compared
