This is the single best thing to come out of the upgrade for me also (closely followed by the "delete" fix)

I agree the two most practical improvements
I was actually starting to miss my Sky HD the other day but this has cured me

The boot up time seems much quicker and the picture appears quicker after selecting the hdmi input the PVR is connected to. Previously I used to get a green screen before the picture appeared.

1. Fixing the HDMI problem where you get no picture on switching on the HDR when it is recording.

2. Being able to type just "1" instead of "101" for the 1xx channels.

Huh? Since when? Doesn't work here! (after the update and in FreeSat mode before you ask...)

It ought to be possible to enter just one or two digits though!

Freesat should have started their channel numbering from 1, that way you could just have entered a single digit for the first channels in the list.

For me the most important improvement is that the STB no longer loses the recording schedule and favourite channel settings when you scan a transponder in Non Freesat mode.

Being able to delete the programme that you are watching is also useful, as it makes selecting and deleting the right programme easier.

The Aspect ratio "fix" is by far the most significant and has made me want to chuck the Humax HDR out the window. Humax have now definitely made it onto my "don't touch with a barge pole" manufacturer list.

I'm really happy with the delete while recording and auto delete series folders when empty.

Now we can play recordings back from the USB external drive which is great, there is a niggling problem that occurs when they finish, in that you are automatically taken back to the internal HDD, so if you want to watch something else from the external drive, you have to navigate back to it.

I think files delete more quickly & the remote seems more responsive.

I await to see if the problems I have had where recordings were missed, especially when being away from home for over a week when the epg fails to populate, have been fixed.

What has made most difference to me is the Widescreen switching problem that has been introduced with .11
Whatever I do, I get spurious AR switches and I cannot seem to get the picture to look "right".
The only work-around seems to be to use the internal (inferior) up-scaler to 1080i at all times.
(Panasonic TV)

PLEASE HUMAX, can I have my 03 version back?
0/10 Humax sorry

1--Delete while recording[/b]---Keeps HD from reaching 100%.
2--Boot in 30 secs ! Used to go make a cup of tea.
3--Remote working at + or - 70 Degrees from front.
4--Better playback via USB. Now I'll buy an external HD.

I dont recall better remote sensitivity even being on the "promised list".

With regards to the power cut problem, does the box not wake up to do housekeeping at 3:00am? If so does the box lose it's time in the event of a power cut?

No loss of schedules after a non-Freesat scan

Didn't expect old archived BBC HD stuff to playback from the external drive. Thought it would only work on stuff post software update. Added bonus as far as I'm concerned

Just for clarification, and people don't try to use the wrong option to protect files ....

Lock is a bit like "parental control", you then need the password to play it back. You can still delete a locked file.

Protect is the option that ....... protects files/folders.

Rgds.

I'm also getting less green screen issues with my Sony W2000 LCD TV, I'm much happier now as it was a real pain before. This improvement is my fav (don't think it was even listed!), second is the delete improvement and 3rd the keeping of the ITV schedule.

Dusted my Humax off yesterday in preparation for Top Gear in HD tonight; and applied the upgrade with no problems via USB.

Straight away I noticed a considerably improved boot time (20-30 secs instead of a minute!!); and much faster channel switching between HD and SD - so both make it a BIG improvement in my mind.

Did notice when deleting from within File Manager that the RED Delete indicator appears to remain disabled (grayed out) even when deleting has finished and the cursor automatically moved to the next item; however the function does still work at this point but won't show as enabled again until moving off and back onto an item.

I can create a folder but I can't see how to move programmes into the folder before protecting the whole 'Archive ' folder.

Liked the thought of this so much that I abandoned work and went to try it.

It didn't work but when I typed 1 Channel 1 showed up on the small screen of the STB before failing into the originally selected programme.

Any more details on exactly how it can be made to work???

If you can create a folder, you obviously know how to get into File Manager.

In FM, navigate to the folder in the left pane and press OK to open it. Navigate to the file in the right pane, and the Green Move button should become active - press Green. If you want to move multiple files, press Yellow to get into Edit mode in FM, select the files you want to Move (still with the Folder open in the other pane), and again press Green when all selected.

Rgds.

It doesn't and I don't see how it could.
