'Strictly Social' application - Be a part of our exciting research!!!!

This may look a lot to read but PLEASE stick with it!! Its interesting stuff!

Social media has recently become a tool that the BBC’s popular entertainment show, Strictly Come Dancing, has decided to develop. The ‘Strictly Social’ platform enables users to get more involved with the show while watching it. The site allows the audience to watch the show via BBC iPlayer and chat in real time with viewers alongside the screen. They can also ‘react’ to what they are see and interact with other fans. Sounds like fun!!

We are a group of 2nd media students. We are interested in investigating the impact the merging of broadcast and a social platform will have on the Strictly Come Dancing viewer. Therfore we need YOU!!!

To enable us to gain our data we plan to take a focus group of 20 people. On the 28th November we would love it if participants watched (via BBC I-player) Strictly Come Dancing in their natural setting while using the application.

Beforehand we will send an open questionnaire to get a general feel for how viewers engage with ‘Strictly’ without the social platform. Then after viewing the show and using the application, we will give out another open questionnaire. This will help us gain data on the viewer’s response to the application.

We would love YOU ALL to be involved. You would be really helping some dedicated students. Everything would be confidential, communicated through email, only take a short time and hopefully ENJOYABLE!! If you think you can help please let us know. Thanks for your time!!! You can also check out the application on the BBC'S Strictly homepage.
