Will Cowell & Co be happy to sign a single mum?
Brunnen-G

Thinking of the huge workload of the winner to record and promote an album will Cowell & Co get worried if Stacey gets within spitting distance of winning?

Personally I don't think having a child should have to make a difference but how will our favourite ruthless record exec. handle it?

They had no problem with Fantasia winning AI all them years ago and she was younger than Stacey.

Stacey has her family. Believe it or not, there are still grandparents in this day and age more than happy to look after their grandchildren.

Fantasia was one example of a single mother. One of Simon's favourite contestants in this year's XF (in fact the one he is rumoured to have predicted as winner at the start) Lil Rounds is a married mother of three. Another early favourite at the start of the competition was a young mother of one with a partner.

It's easy to say the husband/partner could look after the children in those circumstances but often that's even more difficult.

She won't win.

Good examples from AI but SC doesn't have to sign and promote the winners of those shows so he has the luxury of not having to be concerned about such things.

With any luck won't be an issue after Sunday.

He still needs them to be able to sell records, though. If he thought their childcare issues were going to prevent them selling then he'd not support them.

I think the bigger concern with Stacey is likely to be that she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I'm struggling to imagine Simon having a serious business meeting with her! She's more Big Brother than X Factor.

Does she have an entertainment/music background?

She definitely isn't a popstar, so if she wins she'll need lots of help

Do you have psychic powers? I am sorry, but they all have a good chance of winning.

Brunnen,

They've actually started procedures to have Stacey's son put up for adoption in the event that she should win.

That's no way to talk about Danyl and Lloyd.

And look what happened to her? Bankruptcy and an embarassing comeback appearance on this years American Idol.

Lil Round didnt get within spitting distance of the finals. She was out by the sixth week.

I dont think Cowell is that impressed by Stacey. He would do what he did with Steve Brookstein and let her trickle away into obscurity.

Her winning would be a disaster for her and the programme of Michelle McManus proportions.

They will not have to will they?

She was my favourite but not anymore. Hasn't pulled it out of the bag for me yet. Good question OP - not really practical for Stacey maybe if she won. Early mornings various locations...not sure if she would cave in the end.

Stacey may or may not win, and I doubt if she wins it will cause any problems for Mr Cowell.

Quite right too otherwise they'd have Health & Safety and Childline and Social Services after them.

I don't think she'll win but if she was to win i can't see it being a problem. Simon has never said anything that would imply that he doesn't like single mums. Lots of celebrities balance being a mum with their work. Simon was a fan of Rachel last year and she had a lot of baggage! And as someone else has mentioned, Fantasia on American Idol was also a mum.
