Considering some of the crap thats been going on with the show over the past week, VERY nice of them.

I think I remember Brian saying (regular reader of his blog/soapbox) when they did AI he;s their for the contestants and to help them, not the judges/Simon Cowell.

Brian May always seemed like a pretty decent guy to me, so I can believe that.

Aw, I was hoping the first rumour would be true - that they were backing all the songs.
Then this brings me back to my original question - will the backing tracks adopted use a replica Red Special?
I would hope that with Brian involved on some level then he would want to make sure that one was used, even if he had to lend one of his own 'Supers' or a Guyton perhaps.
Won't quite sound right without either Freddie OR a n RS.
Still, will be brilliant to see 'The Boys' live on TV again .

Dang .. I had my hopes up that Adam Lambert would be flying in to front the for one performance but he's shooting his video for his latest single on Sunday so couldn't have done it anyway ... I guess I'll just have to put up with Jedward doing it instead .. should be fun ....lol

I really feel that after performing with the contestants this week, Roger and Brian will not be as keen on working with Adam anymore because this lot kick him into touch, they really do. I mean he can't hold a candle to any of them.

So for the first time the X-Factor will feature some music? This milestone should be better marked surely.

I used to work in a financial advice office in North London. I am a huge Queen fan and I knew that Brian May was a client. I was covering reception when he actually called! I got all star-struck and asked 'Are you THE Brian May?'. Must've thought I was a right idiot, but was a total legend and spoke to me for about 3-4 mins cos the guy he wanted to speak to was on the phone. We talked about the Wembley Stadium '86 gig cos I'd just got the dvd. Just a really nice bloke!

Anyway, not to go off-topic, I'm looking forward to seeing May and Taylor, but I have no doubt that the contestants doing Bo Rhap will be horrible! Apart from John and Edward who will just be hilarious!

I thought it was Shakira and the final 12 performing this weekend? So where's the room for these two?

They usually have two guest performances and a group number on results night so there will be plenty of time for Shakira, the chairty song and a group number with Queen

If it's true, it will explain why the expected dance theme was moved from this week - they will have had to fit in with Brian & Roger, who may only have been available this week.

I am a huge Queen fan, but the cynic in me KNOWS that the only reason Queen want to do it this week is because of the release of their new collection Absolute Greatest - out on Monday.
Having such a massive audience for this show, and playing on it themeselves will be the best publicity possible for the album - and all the kids who never heard the songs before will have the opportunity to go out on Monday and buy the originals in one album for the first time.

It could almost have all been planned that way for months.

Brian May said nice things about the twins too, so hopefully he'll be supportive when he works with them

HI, BigBHM, If you're still there, I left a reply to your post, on yesterday's post this morning. Sounds confusing but it's pretty straightforward.!
I'm glad Queen are appearing whatever the reason :
