Olly's voice is so average
There is nothing special to it. All he does is dance on the live shows, and shows to versatility in his voice AT ALL.

Is that maybe why he's favourite to win? He's inoffensively "average," and that's what the majority like best of all?

Not just his voice, everything about him is distinctively average.

I think he has a lovely voice.
None of them have outstanding voices this year anyway... |

I disagree, personally, but that's just my opinion.

He was OK last week but the dancing is really cringeworthy.
Like you say, average voice. |

Olly sounded good and soulful in his auditions, but Cowell has turned him into cabaret and nothing more. I predict is he does win he will have nothing like the success of Will Young, who some seem to compare him to?

He is so average though, but then again this is one of the weakest years - ever. Any competition which can still see Lloyd beating off the likes of Rachael and Lucy has some serious problems

Olly could probably sing a nice ballad really well given half a chance. I adore Olly and am quite happy for him to carry on as usual.
As for average voices - Lloyd and Jedward anyone? Even Lucie and Stacey could be termed as average depending on who you were comparing them too. Its all down to personal taste. And as its obvious to most that its not all about the singing, I think Olly will do really well.

Olly's not got a bad voice. I like him but he's not an exciting performer, there's no real charisma there and even if he DOES win X factor, which is possible, I don't see a huge future for him as a singer/pop star. He's more likely to be another Leon Jackson.

Not the best voice, but he's fun to watch. I wish Simon hadn't sandbagged him with these ancient song choices. I understand why people are saying he's Butlins, but he hasn't had much chance to show what else he can do.
They could show his performances in black and white and they'd look genuine. Which is Simon's fault, not his. |

Olly isn't going to suddenly blow people away with spectacular vocals. If his voice is not your cup of tea then that will probably remain the case. I think he has a lovely tone to his voice, it's the type of voice I enjoy listening to.
Impressive range and vocal gymnastics do nothing for me as a listener, even though I can acknowledge that they demonstrate a skilled singer. |

I agree that Olly doesn't have the best voice in the competition but as has been stated in many threats The X Factor is not just about having the best voice. You need a bit of everything. I like Olly because i like his voice, his dancing, i enjoy his performances and i think he has a good personality. Plus he isn't bad to look at either. |

I sort of agree, he doesn't really sing, he just kind of talks to music. Plus there's always such a big circus on-stage with him that it disguises any shortcomings he has.

I do owe Olly a vote of thanks. It's because of him that I know I will never ever as long as I live waste money on going on a cruise.
Every night in the "Stardust Revue Lounge" (or other inanely named cabaret bar) you can see an Olly. Shaking his hips, grinding to and for the "ladies", belting out Motown standards, grinning cheesily for the only audience who will ever find him attractive - and believing that he is a star, a hundred or so grey-pubed and nouveau chav hags have screamed their delight. He's arrived. All Cowell has done is transported the star of the cruise ship to primetime TV. The fact that he's loved means nothing, except of course that there is little danger that customers for cruise ships will dry out. Olly is beyond average, average is an unattainable height he can only dream of aspiring to; he makes mediocre look deep, he makes asinine seems intellecutal. And no one with a potato head and a trappist monk's haircut (without tonsure, but give it time) is sexy. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs their vagina seeing to. |

Olly is going to be a huge star. It's like someone took all four Beatles and fashioned them into one man from Essex.
Not only will he crack the US but I predict he will also crack China and become China's favourite popstar within two years. |
