He's got the flu!

Who would you like to see replace him just this once?

It needs to be somebody REALLY experienced I think. I just hope it isn't Vernon, I really don't like him.

A great chance to see if the show could work without Bruce, if he ever does finally retire!

I actually like Bruce, and it won't be the same without him. Not sure who'd be a suitable replacement though....maybe Anton, but he's dancing. Maybe James Jordan, but he's not particularly funny.

Poor Bruce, hope he gets better soon!

Can't think off the top of my head of anyone with the right experience who could present the show. Don't think it would be Vernon as he works for ITV.

Odd as it sound perhaps Bill Turnball, ex-strictly and experience of presenting a live show that moves quickly?

Vernon Kay cant do it he is contracted to ITV at the moment.

Gethin is busy filming for a new series and is Birmingham today so think I am likely to be dissapointed....perhaps Claudia will step in.

James has done quite well with his backstage segments but getting him to front a live show with his lack of experience would be a huge risk so don't think it's likely.

I don't think the ITV contract stops Vernon from working for the BBC - he presents a show on Radio 1 every week.

Hope Bruce gets better soon but this is so interesting. Wonder who they'll get!

EDIT: BBC just tweeted:

BREAKING NEWS... However, Tess Daly will be stepping into Bruce's presenting shoes. Strictly Come Dancing, Saturday, 6.50pm

Oh.

So who'll be stepping in for Tess then?

Well according to twitter Tess will be doing the presenting so I would say either James or Karen is a fair shout for being Tess!

That makes sense, much easier for her to step into the shoes of the main presenter than having to train someone else at such short notice.

Perhaps they'll get Claudia to be Tess.

I don't think the ITV contract stops Vernon from working for the BBC - he presents a show on Radio 1 every week.
bbc Radio and tv contracts are seperate.Alan Carr has an radio 2 show but has an handcuffs deal with channel 4 for tv work,Michael Parkinson kept his radio 2 show when he was poached by ITV in an exclusive tv deal .Vernon has an handcuffs tv deal with Itv

in the heteronormative world that puts a man and a woman side by side in almost everything there is, i doubt this very much
but she would be SUPERB! i think claudia is one of the best presenters on tv.

who do i think? controversially speaking arlene of course *grin*

It would be great to see Claudia stand in, not just because she is a brilliant presenter, but because to have her and Tess dance together at the start would be great car crash TV!

Now that would be car crash tv. 'Audience we haven't booked any singers for the voting break tonight, instead Arlene is going to challenge Alesha to a duel!'
