Quick, quick, let's all start a petition for JFW to do it with Hammy as his sidekick!
Top idea! I think John might be busy fighting Fatbikerdave at the moment though. Perhaps Hammy could fill in on his own?

Rav Wilding? He's male, he's a "presenter".....
Ooh yes I'm liking that idea. Any excuse for a bit more Rav.

Vernon Kay cant do it he is contracted to ITV at the moment.

Gethin is busy filming for a new series and is Birmingham today so think I am likely to be dissapointed....perhaps Claudia will step in.
Thank gawd for that, and pleaseeeeeeeee not Claudia (too much of a good thing and all that) my vote would go to James Jordan.

Surely it would be a major snub to Tess if they asked Claudia to be the main presenter. I reckon they might go for Tess on her own, or Tess assisted by Claudia. Failing that, they might go for Terry Wogan with Children in Need just next week. He and Tess will be presenting that with Alesha, so it would be a very good plug for that event.

Maybe they could dig up Larry Grayson, dust him down a little, a couple of cans of hairspray and a couple of cans of red bull.

Ready made Brucie replacement.!!

The Beeb have already confirmed that Tess is going to take over Bruce's role for Saturday. People are suggesting Claudia as Tess's replacement.

Asking Terry Wogan would also ensure that the syrup gags would continue to fly!

Wogan's actually not a bad shout.

God, you don't think they'd ask JLC do you?

I think claudia is most likely for Tess's bit in the pit she already has a rapport with all the couples so would be more natural i think

"Unfortunately, due to a bout of the flu and on doctor's orders, Bruce will be unable to host Strictly Come Dancing this Saturday. However, Tess Daly will be stepping into his presenting shoes," the spokesman said.

I can think of only one to replace Tess: John Sergeant.
No kidding, I'm serious.

Claudia might struggle as she would have to rehearse for Strictly today, so wouldn't be able to do ITT tonight.

I think John Barrowman is still doing La Cage aux Folles, so he's unlikely to be available. Personally, I'd like to see Claudia do Tess' usual sections of the show in the Tesspit, but not sure if she would do it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Graham Norton stepped in but he may have other commitments

Terry Wogan, Paul O'grady and Graham Norton could step in.

Gethin would get my vote in spades and spades and spades.
I'm still hoping for Aled at some point

Gethin really doesn't have the experience or ability to do this yet .

Blue Peter was one thing , but he has a way to go before he can host big , live shows well.

The BBC report says clearly Tess will do Bruce's hosting this weekend , but no replacement for her named yet .
Tess is a good choice to cover this weekend as putting anyone else in the job will cause a lot of speculation .

I'd have thought Blue Peter would be the perfect training ground for most live TV, you have to do some pretty crazy things whilst presenting live.

I can only pass comment on when I have seen Gethin present ; he is getting better all the time and on recorded shows he is very good ; for example, he hosts a quiz show on S4C which he does very well .

Blue Peter is great training , I am sure , but when I have seen him live, and heard him live , I have felt he has some way to go to reach his best .

The more he does , the sooner that will be , but my personal feeling is that he doesn't yet have the experience nor the ready wit to take over on a live show such as Strictly.

Maybe Natasha Kaplinksy! She once did Tess's job whilst on maternity leave. If not, John Humphreys!! He took over from David Dimbleby on Question Time last night after Dimbleby was hit by his wife's bullock!! That's another story! Humphrey's can grill the contestants!!!
