How about Jeremy Clarkson?

I'd go with either Aled or Gethin for one week. Either will do more than a decent job in Bruce's abcence.

Actually, they'd probably do a better job, but no one saw me type that.

The precedent for this sort of thing so far (in both SCD and DWTS) has been for a former champ to fill in (Kaplunk in uk; Drew Lachey in US) - maybe they'll ask one of the former champs (Alesha excepted) to do the job?

Claudia does seem the obvious choice though.

EDIT - Just remebered! Kate Thornton hosts the tour - maybe for one night she could take over the backroom role?

Claudia is the only choice to take over from Tess tomorrow night. She already knows all the dancers and the viewers know who she is.

Would love for Karen Hardy to be called back just for one show. Or even Arlene Phillips. Karen's great in the choreography corner on ITT..

As Tess is covering for Bruce I'd choose Claudia or Karen to cover for Tess - Claudia would be fantastic!

James would be good- but his Missus is still in the competitionn - I reckon it will be Brendan or Matt

as Tess is going front of stage i think James Jordan would be great doing the back stage bit that Tess usually does

They should get Jill Halfpenny to do it!

I can't see it being two women- they couldn't dance togetherI think it will be Brendan or Matt- Don't think it could be James - his Missus is still in it

The more he does , the sooner that will be , but my personal feeling is that he doesn't yet have the experience nor the ready wit to take over on a live show such as Strictly.”

Fair enough I've only really heard him the radio since he left BP and did strictly

I hope it's a guy, too - it's make more sense and it would be a refreshing change. I think Darren would make a better job of it than either James or Brendan, but Brendan might be fun if he disagreed violently with the judges' marks and said as much backstage. Now that would make a change!

Gethin covered for Adrian on the One Show recently and did a great job, but I'd rather have Claudia.

What about Christine Bleakley, she doesnt do her show on a saturday, is used to presenting live TV and knows how the show works and lots of people on it.!

You'll more than likely be paying whoever it is!

I'd like to see Claudia do it. She'd also seem the logical choice to me - she's got live interviewing experience, not only generally but with all of the cast she'd be interacting with on Saturday. In addition she'll be familiar in the context of the show to a large proportion of the viewers. I can't think of anyone else who would fit those criteria as well. Assuming of course that those criteria are deemed necessary by the production team...

They'd have to frisk him for radishes before they let him in the studio...

I'd quite like to see Gethin take over from Tess. Never thought I'd say that!

I suppose whether or not they get one of the knocked-out pros to do it will depend on whether they are in the group dance this week, it would probably be pretty difficult for them to do both.

Hadn't thought of that. Killjoy - I was just starting to warm to the idea of Brendan getting stroppy in the Tesspit.

I dont want to start a row but obviously as a fan I have seen Gethin doing a lot of live presenting (not always on the TV) but large events with a live audience. He is witty and charming and extremely natural in fact he is better with an audience to feed off than recorded I think, I am not saying that hosting strictly wouldnt be a big thing because it would and is for most people but Just because you havent seen him doesnt mean he isnt doing live work. He has done 2 years of proms in the park (in fact he took over from Aled) as I said I dont want to start a row and wont say anymore but would just like to point out that just because you havent seen someone on your TV doesnt mean they are not doing appropriate work.

Sorry about that.

Although I do remember last week Katya saying that she really wanted to get through as her Mum is coming over this week and as she wasn't going to be in the pro-dance, her Mum wouldn't see her if she didn't.

So is Katya isn't in the pro-dance chances are that Brendan isn't either. There is still hope
