Hurrah!
No Bruce and his frightful jokes. How wonderful!
I don't suppose we could borrow Tom Bergeron from the infinitely classier, far more amusing and much more entertaining USA version of Strictly - Dancing with the Stars. And yes, they do have REAL stars in that show! I'll get my coat.

I would be suprised if they give it to one of the dancers.....to be honest what Tess does is more 'off the cuff' than Brucies role....he has an autocue (which doesnt help sometimes I know) which he reads........she doesnt .......she has notes and has to respond to what the couple says ......now you can be rude about her abilities all you want...I am not a huge fan....but this would be daunting for someone who hasnt done it before and likely to lead to stammering and freezing.

Get well soon, Brucie!
Tess will be hosting the show, according to the BBC, and I would like to see James Jordan back stage to chat to the couples. It is ironic that the man the BBC have been training as a presenter - Anton Du Beke - is still IN the competition this year and not available to step up to the plate!

Thank goodness Anton is still in - He would have fancied himself as presenting as an audition for the future!

Interesting.
Surprised they've put Tess in Bruce's place for the evening though..... How will that work when Tess is used in Tesspit to keep the celebs chatting whilst the judges decided the scores? Surely they wouldn't just send the dancer backstage and leave them there until the scores are ready.... |

The BBC has a huge army of very talented presenters/newsreaders. Surely SURELY they can find one of them, with 24 hours notice, to stand in front of an autocue and present.
And present beautifully, to show us how much the program could be improved. |

That I would love to see. Bruna and Len are hopping back and forth between the two, surely Tom could jump on the first plane out?
sofakat - grab my coat for me while you're at it, would you? ![]() 'Course he could. He's a lot faster than dodgy Brucie baby.

Get well soon Bruce. But this could be interesting Tess doing Brucie's job , as Bruce is slated by some people for making mistakes. It will be good to see how Tess goes taking on the bigger job with more things to say and do. I wish her a good show though , and who will do her job is the question personally i think it will be Claudia.

A part of me is hoping that we won't actually out about Tess' replacement for the night (if there is one) until the start of the show tomorrow.

No, not Claudia! Far too nervy and shrieky. Anyone but her. Get a dancer in there. I am sure everyone wishes Bruce better, fan or no fan

I think it will be fun to watch Tess try. Not the sharpest tool in the box, but she can't be much worse than Bruce.

It's going to be very interesting to see just what SCD is like without him isn't it? There have been loads of us (inc me!) calling for his retirement from the show but I may be praying he works until he's 90 after Saturday night
![]() Hope he has a speedy recovery though. I might want him replaced from time to time but I want it to be because he retires or something not though ill health! |

Tom Bergeron - yeah baby!! I would love to see Tom presenting SCD, he's a class act. ![]() Whoever does Tess's job has got to be used to working with an earpiece in taking instructions from the gallery and reading an autocue. I doubt any of the pro dancers have any experience of this so my money's on a presenter with experience - say someone like Rav Wilding or Gethin? Or is this Vernon's big break? I would also imagine that the BBC have given some thought before now to who they would call in this situation.

How about Bill Turnbull for the Tesspit? Ex contestant, sharp, witty, can do a live show and interviews standing on his head.
