Interesting comments from Leona...

It hasn't really changed that much. The twins won't win anyway.

It hasnt really changed, its just that all the furore over the twins has brought the show's flaws out into the spotlight.

I still enjoy it. As for Leona, she never did it for me, so that year was no different to any other year as far as I am concerned. She can sing, no doubt about that, but I find her quite dull and don't really like her music.

I guess it all depends on how you look at it.

It is slowly turing the way Big Brother did/is.

They are making similar mistakes, allowing the booing is the most glaringly obvious one.

I watched one of the bootcamp episodes of Series 2 the other week - and it is a very different show from then to now - there is so much more humour back then and things aren't really rammed down your throat so much...

I think the show has changed - mind you it changes every year, however I think this year the changes have been for the worse. She is right it is much more panto now, more so than it ever was

I do wonder if the twins were ' plan B'. Because at the start of it, it was all about Danyl, and his great audition, and being another possible Susan Boyle moment, another great find, etc, etc.

I've felt it was Pantomime right from the very first series but this is the first series I've been aware of the Big Brother influences and imho it is that which has dragged the programme into the gutter.

I really really don't enjoy it as much as I used to.

first she says

" Now it's a whole production - so many people on stage, dancing, special effects going off, all that craziness. "

and the next she is telling us she's going on tour with a stage full of dance, with holograms and costumes from the Labyrinth

The difference is one is a Saturday night television programme starring mainly amateurs and the other is a show with professionals in it that people have forked out a fortune to see.

Can't see any valid comparisons there.

I don't have to type a reply, I agree with everything you said lizzy!

I think it's just another dig at the twins. I reckon Simon is pulling in favours with people, getting them to say what he wants.

I am disappointed in Leona, she used the show to promote herself, she had a deal whether she won it or not.

J & E are set to be sucessful at least for a while working in kids TV and maybe novelty records like the Cheeky Girls and why should Leona or anyone else have the right to suggests that they should not have been given the opportunity.

It is a TV entertainment show that makes a lot of money for everyone involved, I think the day we start to take it too seriously is the day it stops being entertaining, already some have got themselves all stressed out over a couple of lads, if they find some lasting talent it is a bonus, but best to just enjoy the show and not take it all so seriously.

Well, not hypocrasy at all really.

A few seasons ago if a judge used a big production number for a contestant, it was derided by the other judges. Now it seems to be accepted and even the norm.

Leona is a performer who has to put on a show for the paying public, the x-factor productions are often mainly to hide how truly dire the performers voice is. I think she is also referring to the backing tracks that haunt this series....a step too far really.

How many massive panto productions did Leona have during X-factor? One maybe? I can't actually remember any at all. How many has each act had this year already? Ollie, J&E, Jamie....every week nearly.

If she had won using the J&E method she would be being hypocritical, as it is, she isn't.

Leona has an opinion?

That must be a sign of the apocalypse.

Come on, its clearly evident the dude who punched her at the book signing was actually a cybernetic android sent back in time to prevent the death of John Connor and originality in the music charts.

It's got to be a production since SCD started on the other side. Besides, I prefer it to permanently pared-back performances. At least they're investing a bit of cash in it.

I guess she likes pantomime.

The first series of X Factor was like a pantomime, where the judges were the stars. I remember this clearly because I absolutely enjoyed the first series.

It became a lot more serious and contestant orientated by the second series.

Leona's tour is not a contest though. So you're comparison is flawed.

I agree with her. They had a bit of production back in XF3 but not to the extent it is now where it takes over.
