I wish Bruce well, his jokes drive me to the mute button more often than not, but obviously no one wishes him ill.

As long as it's not Graham Norton, might be the Wogan for a one off.

If James Jordan or any other pro takes on Tess' role I will choke on my sequins. It will be someone with proper live presenting experience, Myleene Klass, Gethin Jones, Christine Bleakley even Gary Lineker is more likely to get the gig!!
Please not that Myleene. Can't be doing with her. She is everywhere like a bad smell.

On the other hand, on this week's CiN Round the World in 80 days, Myleen (spelling?) was an island of sanity, decorum and real emotions compared to John Barrowman. If he ever succeeds Bruce I really will stop watching - and many more will follow once he gets his own song slot, plus his own song + pro dance slot, his own celeb interviews slot, etc etc.

John Barrowman is a nice man.
I can't believe the bile that comes his way on here.

A BBC spokesman said: 'Tess Daly will be filling Bruce's shoes tonight on Strictly Come Dancing.

Last night Tess, 38, sent ailing TV favourite Bruce a get-well message.

She said: “We’ll all be missing you on Saturday. I’m a bit nervous because I know you’ll be watching from home and yours are big boots to fill.

“I promise not to nick any of your catchphrases. It’ll be nice to see you next

week, to see you next week... nice!” It is understood that Bruce was reluctant to miss work but was told to rest on doctor’s orders.

The all-female swop over means that Tess has had to tweak her trademark entrance on to the Strictly TV set.

Normally she glides down the ballroom stairs and performs a swift dance with Forsyth in front of the BBC’s resident orchestra. “There will be a little surprise there tonight,” said a show insider.

Last night, the star’s spokesman told the Daily Express he was “very optimistic” that Bruce would be back next week and for the rest of the series. He said: “We suspect it is not swine flu and we are very optimistic that Bruce will be back for the rest of the run. We just want him to recuperate well enough and not start doing too much too soon before he returns.”
