I made a glib comment on another thread 2 days ago about the group song being Bohemian Rhapsody and what a laugh that would be. It looks like it could be true. Thankfully, Brian May and Roger Taylor will be performing with them. I’ve gotta feeling it’ll be embarrassing.

What do you reckon?

I quite like the idea actually, but then I don't take it all as seriously as some.

Would be great if they did the old 'release the doves' thing after the song and they all crapped on Simon's head!

They are doing that (the charity single), in place of the 2nd artists song But the group song will be as usual.

I predict this really could be car crash TV at its finest!

I say this because if Brian May and Roger Taylor have agreed to appear that SURELY means that the contestants won't be miming it this week?

I just cannot see respected music legends like them appearing to accompany the usual mimefest, they would lose all credibility. So I think they'll be singing live. (The charity single will probably be mimed though like last year's hilarious performance)

I won't be able to watch if they do this. The usual weekly group song is cringy enough.

I hadn't thought about that!

I wonder how they'll cut it down - can't see them doing the full version.

Surely the full version would require a lot of rehearsal time with the Queen members and therefore be very expensive?

I just can't get my head around what this performance is going to be like - truly these are the end times!

People will look back in years to come and say "Where were you when the x-factor finalists massacred Bo-Rhap and brought about cultural apocalypse?"

It's going to be like something out of the Book of Revelations, isn't it?

The only way this could be topped would be if "Queen" turned out to mean HM Elizabeth II herself.

on the other hand, maybe this is the best opportunity for the twins to show they can sing. they'll probably leave out most of the last section anyway since on xf no performance lasts more than three minutes.

Maybe they'll do it a la Wayne's World with Lloyd, the twins and Joe in the Ghostbusters car headbanging along to the music.

I have to say that I am SICK SICK SICK of this song, it was on top of the charts for what seemed like all my teenage years. But the thought of Jedward singing it is strangely compelling

Look, they're not going to do the Galileo bit, that much is for sure. I don't think even Queen with Freddie ever did it live.
