I started watching regularly in series 2, about show 3. I had watched a couple of shows of series 1, but didn't follow it regularly, and didn't watch the final.

I was particularly interested in anyone who has watched since the first show of the first series?

The first time I watched it was the week of Mark and Karen's salsa which had to be restarted. I think that was the first dance I watched as well. What an initiation into the show...

Yep, me too, watched every programme from day 1, but then we also used to watch Come Dancing, so really looked forward to Strictly.

Me too.

It really was pink & fluffy in those days, wasn't it? Like being snuggled up in a nice warm blanket on a cold winter's night.

I saw bits of Series 1 but it didn't really grab me at that time.

I watched the majority of Series 2 but not 'religiously'.

From the start of Series 3 onwards I've not missed a show to the best of my recollection.

I now understand why you're such a huge Brendan fan!

I do regret not being more commited to the first series; I would have loved to have watched the Natasha and Brendan partnership develop.

In the same way that I think people who didn't watch Series 2 sometimes find it hard to get Jill's brilliance. It's not just about the stand out performances, but how they got there.

And, conversely, the point of view of the Halfpenny Naysayers who have both feet firmly planted in the Denise Lewis camp!

The first show I watched was near the end of series two when Jill and Darren danced the paso. I didn't watch any of series three because I used to work on Saturday evenings but then watched religiously from series four.

Sorry! I did nearly put Denise in my post too. I loved Denise as well, and if she hadn't been up against Jill, she would have been my winner for sure.

I watched bits and pieces of Series 2, 3 & 4 but Series 5 was my first full series. I was 17 and looking for something more than the X Factor.

And then there were people like myself who honestly couldn't pick a favourite between the two, some dances I preferred Jill and some Denise. I admired the fact that Denise came from a completely different background and turned into a lovely dancer.

Series 1, episode 1.

The Kaplinsky/Cole Cha Cha had me gripped ... and I fell in love.

It was Denise's fire and passion that swung it for me - Jill was just a bit too slick.

Remember Julian Clary's frilly sleeves & maracas?

So another question: when did all you "Series 1 Show 1"-ers start posting here? Was this forum open in Series 1?

I didn't start posting here until Series 3.

I'm actually struggling to remember when I got properly hooked.

I can remember all the stuff that people talk about from early series - Chris Parker's paso, Jill and Darren's showdance, Puppetgate - but I don't think I was a regular watcher til the second programme of Series 4.

That was when I saw Ramps do his 10-second spot with Karen in the boys' group Latin. It made me veeeeeeeeery happy

I'm another one who has watched from the first ever episode. Natasha dancing with Brendan was just pure magic for me.

I lurked long before I joined DS.

Exactly the same for me, I'm ashamed to say I didn't even watch the final of series 2 with Jill's super dooper jive, but I have seen it since.

Crumbles.
I can't remember. I definitely didn't post in series 1 ... or 2 don't think.

I can remember, though, when I did start to post it was just a single thread in the RTV section.
And then we got a whole sub-forum to play in.
And then we went pink!

Didn't watch Series one - everytime I flicked over HE was 'dancing' so had the impression they were all like that

Probably show 2 or 3 of series 2, flicked it on, Denise Lewis was doing a ballroom dance and I fell in love (I was in the Denise to Win camp that year) - and I'm still narked about Aled not making the final

I first posted in Series 3 - I'm sure the sub forum was here then.
