About half way through the first series I think. I remember thinking Claire was good so it must have been when she was still in.

Yup I was a gonna from the beginning. I just wish they'd repeat it on Watch so I could get a better copy and relive it (someone kindly gave me a video of series 1 which I put on dvd but the picture quality does tend to give me a headache)Feeling very nostalgic

Series 1, show 1. Hooked from the start. Still my favourite series.

Don't think I posted on here until series 2 or 3. There were other forums for Strictly back then, for those of us who remember! And I know some of you do!! Good times!

Series 1 show 1 for me too.

I love a bit of sparkle and glamour so I was hooked stright away.

Can't believe so many people have been fans since day 1!

I know people complain about this forum not being as nice as in early years, but I think this is still one of, if not the, nicest forum on DS.

That's exactly right, a lovely fluffy blanket, and I loved it, frilly shirts, maracas and all. It changed for me about Sergeantgate time, I thought the judges got a bit too big for their boots, they started to think they were the stars of the show, and along with the celebs began to take things a bit too seriously, although I still love dancing, a little of the shine has gone off the penny for me.

Series 1 episode one I remember David Dickinsons 'Jazz hands' and i also remember that some of the audience used to sit around small round tables and there was no balcony back then.
The show itself only lasted an hour each week with no seperate results show until the final.

I've watched every programme from Week 1, Series 1.
Recorded them when I've been away and once managed to catch-up on the BBC i-player when our Sky + buggered up one time

Same here ...... unfortunately, the warm, fuzzy effect series 1 created was diminished by such an accomplished "amateur" winning series 2. As the years have passed, that original "feel-good factor" has all but evaporated

It's 'way too "driven" these days - competitiveness is fine in the real world but ultimately, this is merely a light entertainment programme and most participants seem to have forgotten that.

Towards the end of series three - I really wanted Zoe or Colin to win.

But I became properly hooked the next year, after seeing Louisa and Vincent's Jive. Their routine thrilled me and I took an instant liking to their partnership.

I started mid-way through series 5. In those days, we'd normally let the kids watch CBeebies before bedtime, but the digi-box was playing up so channel-flicked and ended up watching SCD. It was the week of Kenny Logan's kilted paso, and we've been hooked ever since Gethin melted his trousers leaping off the steps.

I think I started taking it too seriously after Austin's Jive last year. At this point, I realised SCD was more than a TV programme; it was more a microcosm of life itself, only maybe a bit more important.

Hooked right from the very beginning for me. Loved it from the start. I lurked on the forum for a bit before finally plucking up courage to sign up to DS and join in.

Trying to remember, I did post somewhere earlier in the week that I'd only really been watching since series 6 which in retrospect isn't actually true, although it is the only series I've watched all the way through.

The first one episode I watched was the final of series 2. I've then watched the last few episodes of each series and definitely all of the finals.

I've gone the other way. I never used to miss a single show, and have missed a couple already this series!

I haven't watched any ITT this year either - my mum used to record these for me if I couldn't get home in time.

I'm going a bit off the show now.

I only started to watch strictly when my favourite professionals started on the show that would be Vincent Simone and flavia cacace

From the very beginning but my enthusiasm is quickly waning.

We didn't watch until the end of series three. Must admit that when my parents told me about the show I was sceptical, but the moment I started watching I was hooked. One of my "first" memories of SCD was gasping when Ian tripped in the final.

Mid way through the first series as a friend kept going on about Chris Parker!

I caught bits of series 2 but only started watching it every week from series 4 onwards when i stopped working on saturday nights. Though i do remember vividly the final of series 2 ( i was working as a home carer then and managed to arrange my evening calls to fit in with strictly so i could see most of it at my clients houses who were fans, then dashed home in time to see the results).

However the fun thing for me was when i started watching it regularly, my fiancee refused to watch with me, then started coming in to see what was happening and he is now a bigger strictly addict than i am. Recently i came in from work to find him on here, logged on as me posting his comments about one of the shows.

I've watched since series 1, when it was a cosy, fund-raising schedule filler. The only programme I've ever missed was the first final - I was away that weekend and, sure that Christopher Parker was going to win it, didn't bother to set the video. Anyone who grumbled about Craig Kelly's progress this year obviously never saw Chris Parker, Quentin Willson and Diarmuid Gavin in all their glory.

I've been gradually falling out of love since series 5, by which time the programme had lost its innocence and been turned into the BBC's flagship and a glamour fest. Increasing the number of dancers and adding the dance-off were big mistakes in my view, but the worst change was the loss of the link to Children in Need. I always used to vote when part of the money went to charity, but I don't bother now. And to be honest I rarely see anything now that tempts me to.

Myself as well, from beginning of Series 1. Hard to get excited about this series, although I like Jade/Ian and Team Cola.

Series 1, week 1.

I started watching it with little interest in dancing. I'd watched because I had a massive crush on Christopher Parker at the time. At first, I was a bit lost, because I had no dance knowledge at all and knew very little of the celebs. Slowly, though, I grew to love series 1. I loved how different the show was to the usualy reality TV these days.

I know I watched series 2 and 3, but of all the series, they're the 2 I remember least, strangely. It's shocking. Of course, I remember them, but not as well as I remember the others.

I can remember most of series 4-7 though. :P

The standard of dancing has improved, but I have to agree with La Triviata. The innocence of the show seems lost. Way back then, it was more about something entertaining to watch and people didn't seem quite as bothered about Chris Parker making it to the final as they did about JS last series or Craig this series. It seems to have made a lot of people love dancing more, which I think is why it bothers them when no-hopers stay in so long.

I'd love to think new people fall in love with it every series. I just hope we manage another series or 2, at least, out of it.

I've watched since the very first episode of series 1

I remember seeing Bruce being interviewed and he was talking about his new show being about celebrities being paired with professional dancers and learning to dance. I remember thinking 'that sounds dull' However, when it started my mum decided she wanted to watch so I watched it too. Sooo glad I did.

I don't love it was much as I used to, although this series is miles better than s6 in my opinion. I was obsessed with it up until series 4, then it started to lose it's sparkle.
