I've just seen the latest news. He's talking about how the twins are close to signing a record deal. He did this to Eton Road too , the week they were eliminated. He said he would get the boys a record deal before the vote even started and people thought they didn't need to vote for them as they would get signed anyway. He's been blabbing about various tv deals too. It all takes away the need for the fans to vote as they think the boys will have bright futures whatever happens.

The fact is, the boys are tied in to their Syco contracts and can't sign with anyone before next March., even if they wanted to. (as far as I know) The only person who can sign them before then is Simon and I doubt he would sign up J&E before he had signed up the winner of XF.

I wouldn't really compare it to the Eton Road scenario Disnae.Jedward are a much bigger phenomenom than them ; there were already stories in the press this week about the twins being inundated with TV offers and even going to Hollywood(!).Whether Louis is being honest or making the whole thing up,I don't think it will affect their chances in the voting.

How is he scuppering there chances by getting them contracts??

I think you need to think what's best for them rather than what's best for you as a fan.

for you, bragging rights on here if they win no doubt.

I hope so Eurostar but I just don't see how Louis can say they are close to signing a deal if they're not allowed to at the moment. I think what he says might have an impact because people will think Jedward are taking a place from a vocalist who needs the record contract, whereas they don't. . You are right though: Jedward are a phenomenon and people will maybe just continue to vote for them because they want to be entertained and they want to be able to continue to see the boys on the telly on a Saturday night. Last year the top 5 all got record contracts, so maybe it won't make that much of a difference. :/

How can they have a contract if they are not allowed to sign one? They are bound over to Syco until after the tour.

Contracts are broken all the time in this day and age.

Louis couldn't be seen to be party to that, surely. He'll want to work for XF again next year.

They could with the permission of SC sign a contract and that would be fine.

For Louis to say don't vote for them they have a record deal will make many fans want to vote because they want to watch them.

Pandoras box needs to be closed.

Syco can release them if they want to. They probably won't but they can.

I guess Simon might give them permission, on condition they withdraw from the competition maybe.

I can't see Syco releasing them. Those boys will be worth a fortune, atleast in the short term.
