I care about the dancing. I wouldn't watch it otherwise. I'm an ex dancer who has taught as well, and who still dances. Of course I care about dance. Many of us here do.
What would be the point of bringing in all those pros in to teach if their 'pupils' just didn't care and never wanted to get any better, and preferred playing up to the camers,. What would be the point? It's a joy watching someone learn to dance and love it. It's fantastic if they discover a latent talent they never knew they had and fall in love with dance. And it's wonderful to be a teacher who can bring that out in someone. |

I agree! I went in praying Anton had a dance partner I'd actually like for once and lo and behold he got the egyptologist from Primeval! I could not have asked for anything more.
Bottom line is she could dance like dusty bin after a few shandies and I'd still vote for her! ![]() I think it gets to a point where you develop loyalties to certain couples and support them no matter what. I feel that way about Laila, Natalie and Chris. I can acknowledge when they might have struggled with a routine, but it wouldn't put me off voting for them. If anything it means I'm likley to vote for them even more because they are vulnerable. |

I don't believe anyone has claimed not to care about the dancing.
Just that it's not the be all and end all of the show. It's Saturday night entertainment, not the Olympics.

I do.
Otherwise I'd be watching something else... without dancing in it... |

Me too really, but their approach to the dance and rapport with their partner count too. I'd never vote for a "personality" who performed poorly. Jade and Ian are my favourites. I think Ian is overdue the win and Jade has real guts and work ethic. I rarely vote, and never till the semi final as I think it's a waste of money - I voted twice last year and that's it I think. And how on earth does ANYONE still believe it's for charity? Last edited by ilovesooty : 13-11-2009 at 21:51. Reason: typo! |

I absolutely love dancing. My interest, which was originally just in SCD, has extended well beyond that. However as far as SCD is concerned, I don't think it is just about dancing. It isn't just about personality either. It is about how someone can find a way to express new aspects of their personality through dance. For me that could happen as a result of a progression of poor/unremarkable to very good, or it could be a progression of good to brilliant. The fun is watching someone make that progression. |
