My favourite songs from each album are:-
Queen:- Liar
Queen II:- Sevens Seas of Rhye
Sheer Heart Attack:- Killer Queen
A Night At the Opera:- '39 and I'm In Love with my Car
A Day at the Races:- Somebody to Love
News of the World:- We Are the Champions and Sheer Heart Attack
Jazz:- More of That Jazz
The Game:- Another One Bites the Dust
Hot Space:- Las Palabros de Amor
The Works:- Hammer to Fall
A Kind of Magic:- A Kind of Magic
The Miracle:- Rain Must Fall and I Want It All
Innuendo:- These are the Days of Our Lives
Made In Heaven:- Heaven for Everyone

Both Roger and Brian have also done some excellent solo work, particularly Rogers Happiness album song 'Old Friends' and Brian's version of Too Much Love Will Kill You.”

Great post
That Roger song you mentioned is fantastic, and emotional - a tribute to the man himself - Freddie:
Old Friends:

I wanted also to 'upload' the US album of Heaven for Everyone - by Roger's band The Cross (with Roger on vocals)... Personally I refer it to the Queen version.:

And The Cross UK album version with Freddie on vox (this is the version I knew since I bought Shove It in 1990):

The idea of someone like Sharon trying to dictate to Freddie what he should do etc. doesn't exactly fit with the image we have of him.”

I am going to try and get it out of the horse's mouth. I sent in a question to Brian's soapbox and fingers crossed I'll get an answer. Would be interesting to know if there is anything truth to the rumour or she is namedropping because when she was praising Rhydian, she said she was great friends with him.

Good luck then.
I have never e-mailed Brian myself, but I have a couple of good friends who have had replies, and both have - seperately - been either mentioned on his letters page or soapbox.
If anyone saw recently the article in his SB about the T-Shirt he signed which was raffled for a Rotary club in Argentina? Well it was actually my good friend Patricia who got the shirt signed in person and auctioned the shirt. Trust me, there is no bigger Brian May nut than her - she would clog your computer if you got on MSN with her because all she wants to do is send hundreds upon hundreds of Brian May pics to you

You might get a standard reply from Jen (webmistress) though with that kind of question - let us know .

I just posted this in another thread, but thought it might interest a few here who do not know them...

Here are a couple of Queen related covers:

Nice!!
I am still awaiting delivery of my special editions.
Fingers crossed they will arrive tomorrow
I am loving the fact that Queen have 'allowed' (or EMI rather) the price (of the standard CD) everywhere to be under a tenner - even on the Qol store - which is normally more expensive.

Been a Queen fan as long as I remember. I'm 19 now and still as big a fan as ever.

I think my all-time favourite is It's Late. Other favourites are probably Liar, Innuendo, Brighton Rock, The March Of The Black Queen and My Melancholy Blues.

My least favourite out of the "hits" are definitely A Kind Of Magic, I Want To Break Free and Flash.

Anyway, managed to see Queen & Paul Rodgers at the O2 last year which was amazing, also got a couple of emails from Dr. May himself.

By the way, in answer to the Sharon Osbourne thing, I do remember reading that Don Arden was in the running to manage Queen after they broke away from Trident and the Sheffield brothers in 1975, before they settled on John Reid. Maybe it's related to that?

Queen is, and always has been my favourite band of all time, ever since I was little.

I was brought up on them and Greatest Hits 2 is my all time fave cd, I've owned several copies over the years and it's the one cd I couldn't live without.

Unfortunately I was a bit too young to have seen Queen in concert although I have all the dvd's! I have seen Queen and Paul Rodgers and though it was fab it just wasn't the same without Freddie, who is my idol.

I have seen We Will Rock You 7 times, and I've taken my youth group 3 times - I've converted quite a few teenagers to Queen fans! The 3rd time I saw it, it was on what would have been Freddie's 60th birthday and it was a really special performance, McFly performed, Ben Elton did a speech and the legends that are Brian and Roger actually came out and sang a couple of songs including 'Love of my Life'. I nearly cried!!

My favourite song changes but I love The Miracle (and the video), Innuendo, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, 39 and I Want to Break Free.

My 2 year old daughter also loves Queen (like she has a choice), she sings along and knows all the words - One Vision is her favourite

One of the first singles I ever bought was Queen's 'Seven Seas of Rye'- on 7" vynil from the record store in the local market. Those really were the days of our lives! But then along came punk and ska and a whole host of other music.......

However back to Queen

The Queen tracks that I rate are these:

Death on 2 Legs - awesome rock song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4zmv1IFCOA

Get Down Make Love - awesome sexy rock song which makes me want to!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX5iAEKcJx4

39 - an understated anthem which sends shivers down my spine even moreso now than ever. Listen to the lyrics
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjuyXR5by2s

The Prophets Song - A musical road movie. Genius
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_AxOqzetdE

Spread your Wings - Lyrically beautiful
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUPUj22bwTQ

Oh and of course, Seven Seas of Rye!

Queen? Awesome! Saw them at Earls Court, Wembley Arena, Hyde Park, Purley Orchid (the 'Crazy' tour) and Wembley Stadium in 1986. I was at the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert and have seen Queen & Paul Rodgers 4 times. I have all their UK album releases on CD and most on vinyl. Saw WWR 3 times, including, as mentioned above, the one on what would have been Freddie's 60th birthday. Oh, and I have a Burns Brian May guitar.

Simon Cowell summed it up when he said that just listening to all the songs (on last week's X Factor) reminded us of what amazing songwriters they were.

Need I say more?

Got my copy of Absolute Greatest today.
Well, two copies - the A4 Hardback book edition.
One to 'use' and one to keep nicely wrapped.
And..
WOW, what an amazing book it is.
Fantastic photos, some of which even I have never seen, four images of handwritten lyrics - one for each band member.
The second CD contains commentary in which Brian and Roger talk about each of the songs on the main disc (which I have not listened to yet) AS WELL AS an enhanced section that allows you to gain access online to watch 18 superb live videos ranging from 1974 to 1986 Which I was not actually expecting!)
I am very very pleased with the product as a whole.
Of course, as a life long fan I have no need for the main disc, but the second disc is gonna be great I am sure - and the commentary part of it is available on the two disc edition.
The enhanced section - or indeed access to the videos - is available by buying either the Book edition, the LPs or the T-shirt.
All available through the Queen online store ( I am not going to provide a link, but it is not hard to google).

As a fan, I am very very happy with it all.
Thanks (once again) Queen

By The Way Queen fans - well those who also enjoy the solo material...
Monday sees the digital release of ROGER TAYLOR'S new single:
'The Unblinking Eye (Everything Is Broken)"
Which seemingly promises to be another sparkling and scathing political commentary from RMT.

It will be available to buy via download from Qol (google it) from Monday and apparently on itunes at a later time - I will keep y'all informed on this.

He has been busy working on other new material too, so (though unconfirmed) we COULD be seeing the release of his fifth solo album before long

I watched it over and over and over for years, until when I was 13 I was able to start buying cassettes, starting with Sheer Heart Attack.
That was how it began for me.

Queen will always be my second favourite band after The Beatles.

But seeing Brian and Roger on X-Factor made me sick to the stomach - I know they have another greatest hits to plug but still........

Very true - as I pointed out on the 18th.
Bit disappointed that I could only buy the song via Visa or Mastercard though - I have an account with Qol and have purchased other items with my debit card - but what if I had no credit card too? I would not then have been able to buy the single.
Yes, I am sure it is available in many ways for free, but I do not agree with getting NEW music free.
When it has been out for a good while I would consider other options - but I believe that (in this case for instance) Roger would like to see half decent sales before deciding to release an album. (half decent meaning 'in the context of an artist who does not achieve commercial success of his own volition')
I mean, it's only 99p to download a 6.5 minute song.

I had considered that, but my debit card has no Visa on it, and many others don't either.
Just felt it a bit disappointing that I could buy TCR and Absolute Book ed. with my maestro debit card, but but this single - I am sure a few sales have been lost because of it.
And yeah, great song - nice to know Roger is still unafraid to speak his mind in a song - one of the lesser known 'protest song' writers.
