They had to chose this one to appear on IT2.

Miranda Hart, who just so happens to have a new series on BBC2.

It happens every year on IT2.

"Programme placement."

I don't mind as long as they are genuine fans of the show and she was definitely a big fan.

I don't mind so long as they actually watch the show and know what they're talking about.

Err..

They'd hardly say they weren't would they?

It doesn't really bother me who they have on, it's just that it seems so obvious, with her new series starting this week.

She "pretended" she didn't, but there might have been a bit of truth in that.

With some people it's obvious that they don't really watch the programme. I thought she seemed like a genuine fan.

Before they discussed the dancing though, I had thought to myself that this was the first time that the guests were promoting something.

There was a Strictly mention on her new show so she probably is a fan.

I thought Miranda was very good and obviously a genuine Strictly Fan. I loved her humour and she and Claudia sparked off each other.

I thought so too - Katherine Jenkins was a bit superfluous actually and Craig was great in more relaxed mode.

I agree. Craig seemed to find Miranda very funny.

I didn't appreciate having to put up with a bit of Katherine Jenkins' new album. That was definitely someone plugging something. And she might be living with Gethin but she didn't strike me as being a particular fan of the show.

Miranda came across as very genuine, loved the thought of her having the strictly parties. A really funny lady.

I caught the end of her new show last week and have to admit she had me laughing - it was very simple good old fashioned comedy

I love Miranda Hart she's very funny and I'm a big fan of the slapstick style physical comedy she does. She plays to her strengths and is wonderfully self depricating to boot!

I've no problem with Miranda Hart.
It seems pointless defending her on this thread as I wasn't criticising her, but the BBC.

Hands up those who think IT2 includes everything you might want to see each evening and that more interesting bits are not cut short because of the lack of time?

So why include "programme placements?"

Be advised, as we near the end of the run, expect more of it.

"It's what the BBC do."

If Miranda appeared only because of the new series, there was no "programme placement" as no time was given over to promoting or featuring that programme (unless I missed it).

Really don't like some of these random people would just rather have a rota of the evicted Pro's as they have something valuable to say too.

Most of these 'superfan' guests have something to plug or they probably wouldn't go on it. Even the ultimate fan Marian Keyes has a new book out at the minute, they might not directly say so but it gets people thinking about them.

My point being (I think I have one) that people only do it if there is something in for them. Although Katherine Jenkins felt like a very blatant plug last night I must say!

And more importantly I wish Claudia wouldn't make out like they have all these fan facts in their heads when they are blatantly reading them off a card...we have eyes you know!

I didn't mind Miranda one bit.

Hasn't she been on ITT before or maybe interviewed in one of those short VT clips we used to see where people - often celebs - said what they thought about the show that night? I'm sure I have seen her in connection with Strictly before.

Marian Keyes does have a book out now, but it is her first book for a while.

I really haven't had a problem with any guests on ITT this year as they have all had a genuine like or connection with the show.

I couldn't care less if the guest has something to gain from being on the show, as long as I feel they are genuine fans.

No where near the worst guest EVER who had clearly never watched a second who was Eamon Holmes.

At least Miranda clearly watched the programme.

She's always a but superfluous, surely

I liked Miranda Hart - she had my chuckling. I love having people on like her, and especially Marian Keyes.

I had never heard of Miranda but I thought she was very amusing and seemed like a genuine fan.

Wasn't quite sure WHY Katherine J was there!
