Ronnie Corbett is married to a retired dancer, so perhaps he would know more than many other celebrities about the technicalities; and could it be that they had a run through with Tess and they have a few challenges? Claudia can obviously manage backstage, but Tess and front of house, perhaps that's a different matter.

I'm really quite miffed about this although I should be pleased that a former neighbour is joining my fave show.
(Ok - I'm a name dropper )I was excited, and delighted, to think that Claudia and Tess were going to do the show between them and really looking forward to it but now they've let an outsider in ![]() Mr Corbett sir, you'd better be good! ![]() (No pressure then lol) p.s. I'm sure I would have felt the same no matter who was brought in |

No, she is on the show.
They just don't go on and on about it like X Factor do. Strictly had Beyonce on last year and then 6 weeks later X Factor introduced her as if it was some kind of world exclusive she had agreed to appear on their show. ![]()

Bruce Forsyth has said that he wants Ronnie Corbett to replace him on Strictly Come Dancing if he decides to quit the show, according to reports. http://www.tvscoop.tv/2008/02/ronnie_corbett.html
"Bruce wants to leave the show in safe hands and he is quite bullish about the fact that he wants a veteran household name to take his place," said a source. "He’s already mentioned Ronnie to producers." |

I thought a message earlier in this thread was strangely overlooked. The Radio Times asked the judges before the series began what the chances were of them dancing in it. I can't remember what Aleesha said. Len said no chance, Bruno said no chance because it would take him a month to get fit enough and he didn't have the time, but Craig hinted that he might indeed be dancing in this series. I don't know which Craig the poster had in mind, but CRH dancing could easily be the 'surprise'.

Really don't want to see Ronnie Corbett. His 'jokes' are even more unfunny than Bruce's.
Paul O'Grady and Claudia would definitely have been worth watching.

Would have preferred Dale Winton, he and Claudia would have been hysterical

Urgh, I absolutely hate Dale Winton, I certainly would switch off it was him.
To be fair, what Bruce does mostly is read off the autocue, so if Ronnie sticks to that, then he should be fine, besides, I don't think he has a particularly big role in the show - I suspect Tess and Claudia have the bigger roles. |

If I were Tess I'd be worried, as I suspect Claudia will be vastly superior to her backstage.

I'm guessing the BBC just wanted Tess and Claudia then Bruce stamped his feet and insisted upon Ronnie Corbett being involved.
I think that is what happened. |

Well, if its true - I will certainly look forward to Ronnie Corbett tonight.
As much as I love Graham Norton. Dale Winton, Paul O'Grady and I would have LOVED Julian Clary! .....this has developed into a real Saturday Night Family Show with viewers from the ages of 5 to 95. A lot of these presenters rely on sexual innuendo to amuse their audience...I'm fine with that for myself but if you are watching with a 6 year old or 96 year old - who love this programme as their favourite Saturday Night entertainment...then Brucie's line of patter - though boring or tedious to some...fits the bill and I imagine Ronnie Corbett's will do likewise |

I hate surprises, I want to know what we're in for.
The BBC make me laugh, they let Arlene go because they want to attract a younger audience and then go and get Ronnie corbett who most people under the age of 25 have never heard of |

Is it confirmed that Ronnie Corbett is doing the show? If so, are they serious? Are they trying to wreck the show completely?

Surely not Ronnie Corbett? Talk about past their sell-by dates.
