When I pressed the red button I just got a blank screen. After several attempts I gave up and resorted to re-setting my Foxstat HDR to factory default.
The next two ITV HD programmes worked OK but when I tried watching the final episode of Collision last night the "Loading HD' sign came up and stayed. I had to change channels to get rid of it.
All this has happened since the Humax software update. Has anyone else had similar problems?

I've had trouble with ITV HD since the update. Complains of poor signal quality. I'd assumed my dish has moved slightly and it was a coincidence.

I've lost ITV HD too. Is it particularly susceptible to small dish movements? I've not got Euronews either, though that's not really much of a loss.

Should I try moving the dish a bit?

Mine is gone too. However my other generic FTA box picks it up no problem! Humax have really screwed the HDR up with this new firmware!

My box has successfully recorded all 5 of Colllision in HD, and I'm currently watching the football in HD.

I don't think it's the new firmware; not here anyway.

ITV HD is on the same transponder as the epg if you can get the epg it's very unlikely to be an alignment problem

Mine has done 4 Les but not at home to check nos 5, it was in the schedule though. So pretty sure mine's OK as well

My box recorded Monday and Tuesday episodes of Collision (pre update) but Wednesday's episode failed (unknown reason message), Thursday's failed (no error message) and Friday's recorded OK. The recordings were scheduled at the start of the week and series linked. Incidentally, Andrew Marr's The Making of Britain also failed to record on Wednesday on BBC HD (no error message). These are the first failed recordings I've had since South Pacific was broadcast.

Tuesdays Collision failed for me. Booted the box up within T-15 and had a phantom freesat retune message, but managed to set a manual record just in time as the titles were rolling

All ITV HD recordings fine since update.

Here also recorded all 5 episodes of Collision on ITV HD successfully.

And I didn't know there had been an upgrade until I came on here yesterday.

I don't think you can blame the software for this, Collision failed to record for me on Monday,on the old software, and failed again on Tuesday with the new software. Having missed the first 2 episodes I gave up!

Can you still get ITV HD by pressing the Red Button when an HD prog is on? If not, this might be why your recordings failed.

Sometimes, when there is corruption in the ITV HD stream, some boxes seem to switch off their capability to get ITV HD, and it needs a Factory Reset to bring it back. This happened to me a long time ago, and there were theories on why some boxes affected, and others not, like being in Standby, or Recording in Standby, when the corruption happened, etc., but nothing conclusive, one of life's great mysteries. Roll on when ITV HD is a proper separate channel.

After the recent update I could not view any channels on a vertical polarity eg BBC HD and many more. I have contact Humax and although they ignored 4 emails I finally was told, via telephone, they are looking into a further upgrade in the software to correct the problems due to the upgrade. My Humax Foxsat HD box id useless without BBC HD. Contact Humax and tell them about your problem as it will force them to give us a upgrade to put things right.

Your problem, and the OP's issue are not related in any way, and anyway they are different models.

Thought the quality of the football was a bit patchy for the Brazil vs England game.

Off the field, a lot of it looked very poor. On the field matters improved but the crowd seemed to macroblock / blur badly on pans.

Don't know what ITV were trying but it clearly didn't work.

I too am having problems getting ITV HD. I press the red button, get the "ITV HD Loading" message, then in the top right the prompt to press blue to return to normal, then screen is dark grey then goes a darker grey, and nothing then happens at all.

I have read this thread and I can get euronews OK.

Given that ITV don't do the simulcast all the time, it's a bit difficult to test if it's working or not, but I'd like to get this sorted before the weekend and the FA Cup games.

Anyone got any hints or tips ?

ITV HD is on Eurobird 1 on the same transponder as Brit Shorts TV, so see if you can get this.

Your first chance to test with ITV HD is tonight, the Martin Clunes: Islands of Britain programme. If it doesn't work with this, you will probably have to do a Factory Reset to get it back.

You will have to make a note of your recording schedule, as this gets wiped, and any User Settings you may have changed; also the volume gets reset to 50%. Your recorded programmes on disk are unaffected.

No sign in the Guide for that channel. So I'm guessing the dish is not aligned correctly ?

Not having any satellite finding equipment, can you give me a clue ? Up/Down left/right ?

AFAIK Brit Shorts will only show up in non-FreeSat mode.

OK. But I don't have STB mode in my menu

I've fiddled with some menus and can get some channels on 11426 V but 11426 H does not appear in the selectable list of freqs.

Anyway, I have managed to get "Brit Shorts" currently showing some Turkish thing, so I guess the dish is aligned correctly. Just can't get ITV HD

The epg comes from the same transponder as ITV HD if you can get that then it's not dish alignment that's the problem

The STB mode menu item only appears if you have actually tuned some channels. In any case if you get the epg you will get ITV HD (it's the same transponder). The problems got be mheg related and a factory reset usually resolves this

I am pleased to say that the factory reset appears to have done the trick.
