xbox 360 HDMI
hope someone will help me
i've got the xbox arcade and had it from when they first came out, but with the new hd tv i've got i want to connect the xbox to it but the hdmi cable i got doesn't seem to fit in the back of the xbox anywhere can i buy a special cable or will i just have to use the red/yellow/white adaptor thanks |

The first models only had component output on them so you're restricted to that - hoping your TV has component input !

To add to what tammytastic said: Microsoft updated the white (non-Elite) Xbox with HDMI in the latter half of 2007 (if memory serves)?
If you have an original Xbox Arcade you may not have the necessary cable to support HD? I believe it shipped with a Composite AV cable (three wires): Yellow for video and Red and White for audio? You may however have the Component HD AV Cable (six wires) -- which you can buy (circa £20) -- which supports HD output up to 1080i and Dolby 5.1 sound? IF your TV supports it, you would then use the Red, Green and Blue connectors for picture and White and Red audio connectors for sound. |

Many people say they can't see the difference between 720p and 1080p, so unless you are really bothered about 1080p, it sounds like you are good to go?

I use the component cable (red blue green) and the optical out to my surround amp, works perfectly. HD picture and 5.1 surround sound.
