Humax HDR Hardisk Problem

Turned on my HDR this morning only to be presented with the message "hard drive not formatted - Format Now"
If I press ok then presumably I will lose all my recordings. Any helpon this please,

Oh dear, that doesn't look good.

You can try exiting, and rebooting to see if it was just a glitch, or doing a Factory Reset, again if it is an internal glitch.

If it doesn't come back, then try the format, you will lose all your recordings.

This could be either a corrupt filesystem, or the first indications of a failing hard drive.

Menu>Setup>Factory Reset.

You'll lose your recording schedule, any user settings you may have changed, and volume will go back to halfway. Stored recordings are unaffected.

I'm not hopeful, but it's worth a try before the reformat.

I cant get into the menu system as its try to boot. I pressed "Yes" and its still in boot mode presumably formatting. I this does'nt work I am Knackered.

Try turning mains power off completely, wait for 30 seconds & then reapply power. You never know! Software can do funny things.

No go, I have tried everything but still get the opening screen of " HDD is not formatted. Formatting will begin... Yes" press yes and nothing happens, tuner works fine but cant record or delete. Anyway I really must comend Argos for their returns service. I phoned them today and after talking to technical support they will deliver a new machine on Wednesday and collect the old one, they stated that I will have a new 12 month guarantee as well, hows that for service. I was lucky as the 12 month guarantee ran out Dec 1. Thank you Argos.

I also found Argos excellent with customer service. I got a new box as well when I'd had mine for considerable time.

At least there's one retailer out there that knows about service.

I've bought several other items off them since as a result after many years of not using Argos. Just goes to show good customer service pays.

Argos delivered my repacement Ony problem is I cant get the remote to work my tv, I tried all the codes in the manual twice for my Pioneer PDP 436 but none seem to work. Any one got the correct code please.
