I think Lizzie meant that if Jade hadn't been injured then LAILA would have pulled out. Suggesting that Laila didn't want to pull out because they were already one person down.
I do think that is possible, I'm sure I heard Tess say it was very much a last minute decision for Laila to dance.

However we have seen plenty of training dances that looked 'amazing' but either went wrong or were not as good as the preview clips suggested. Just getting a bit fed up reading how Jade would have definitely gone through/been top of the board with her tango but that is just guesswork and we will never know hoe good it would - or would not- have been.
Jade has been the most consistent dancer so far -- so even if her Tango didn't "wow" on the night, it would most likely have still been very good.

Wasn't accusing anyone of feigning. Jade and Leila were injured. Leila hobbled her way through and Jade didn't dance at all. Just saying that anyone can be injured and stay in the competition

It just seems grossly unfair that both are through and Tuffers goes home
Are you implying Jade feigned injury or deliberately chose not to dance? Are you suggesting she should have tried to perform after a potentially career threatening injury and if she had aggravated the injury would that have made everything OK? As in - 'Ah well, she's done permanent damage, but at least she gave it a go!'

Would all her detractors have been happy - given that scenario?

Sometimes this forum beggars belief - 'the girl is injured, but let's not show any concern just look for some ulterior motive to get her through to the next round.'
And btw in Jade's absence I voted for Tuffers - did you?

How did Leila get through fairly ??????????

She didn't dance. I could have done that
Because the viewers voted her through, she was, fairly, bottom of the leader board, the public decided to register enough votes to lift her clear of the bottom two - so she gets through - How on earth is that not fair

Thanks for clarifying, Robert. I don't think you'd explicitly mentioned the elimination part, hence why some of us might have been struggling to grasp the evident simplicity of your proposal. As Chris Tarrant always says, it's only obvious if you know the answer
Not a problem.

To be fair I did state quite explicitly my view that Jade should be out but I know it gets a bit frenetic in these threads and opinions get spread over multiple posts when otherwise they might be more neatly and concisely expressed.

Not at all, just saying that anyone could do this in the future

Are you suggesting she should have tried to perform after a potentially career threatening injury and if she had aggravated the injury would that have made everything OK? As in - 'Ah well, she's done permanent damage, but at least she gave it a go!'

Not at all, just that she should now be eliminated from the competition
Would all her detractors have been happy - given that scenario?

I'm not a detractor. I've been very impressed and entertained by Jade this series

Sometimes this forum beggars belief - 'the girl is injured, but let's not show any concern just look for some ulterior motive to get her through to the next round.'

No, I never waste my time, effort and money voting

Hope this clears a few things up

perhaps Leila is now a nailed on certainty for the title

She should go into the jungle next year

That's exactly what I way saying last night. The public saving the bottom placed couple is hardly a new thing regardless of their dancing (or lack of)

Why are people being so skeptical about these injuries?

I'm gutted for both girls. And they seemed to be in genuine distress.

Of course I'd give them the benefit of the doubt - it would be extremely mean-spirited not to.

Sympathy votes happen when a contestant is at the bottom of the table - regardless of whether they are injured or not - so why would anyone need to 'fake it'?

I didn't enjoy the show much tonight - possibly I was influenced by my disappointment at Jade's injury.

I thought Tess made an excellent job of filling in for Bruce, Claudia was equally as impressive doing Tess's job but Ronnie Corbett was an unnecessary distraction.

Sorry Team Cola fans, but I couldn't believe the comments and marks their Paso received. In fact as soon as they started to dance I actually started laughing and I laughed for a different reason at Alesha's 9. Chris's face was a picture and not a pretty one; it reminded me of Tom's last year!

Natalie and Vincent - overmarked; 9's from Len and Alesha were bizarre.
I completely agree on your points above.

These are the two partnerships that irritate me the most despite the fact that I love Ola and Vincent.

And as for Brucie, I didn't miss him one bit!

I thought Phil and Katya slightly undermarked - that 7 from Craig was harsh imo.
Ricky W and Natalie didn't wow me at all. On this occasion I did agree with Craig, the choreography stuttered here and there, I thought the 9's were generous. I wasn't impressed by his reference to injury, when we'd just witnessed Jade's awful pain.
Ricky G and Erin - it didn't flow, and I think Len overmarked, but it didn't affect the leaderboard, so no harm done.
Laila and Anton - what can I say except that it was genuinely sad to see her in pain and so upset.
Natalie and Vincent - overmarked; 9's from Len and Alesha were bizarre.
Ali and Brian - a pretty dance, but she just didn't bring any passion to it. Again I thought 9's generous.

So there it is. Perhaps I'm being an grump, but I saw nothing to warrant a 9, which is disappointing at this stage of the competition.

Then to top it all - Phil who I thought gave a really good performance, went out!
Afternoon my bit of DS totty <smooooooooooooooch!>

I totally agree with you regarding both Natalie & Chris (and I said as much on their Appreciation Threads !!).

They are my favourites, but the 9's they were awarded were just silly.

Len and Alesha have made a mockery of the scoring this year.

Last night's show was a bit of a shambles.
All these injuries and other ills.
Hope it's better next week.

Its always been related to personality, otherwise every week the weakest dancer would go out. Have you only just started watching it?

Last nights Strictly may have been hap hazard but that made it far more entertaining in my opinion.

It's really got people talking. I hope Jade and Laila can dance next week. But I hope the BBC have a contingency plan for if they can't.

By the way does anyone here go onto the BBC Strictly forum? Usually official programme forums are not as good. Is it worth signing up there too?

Second on the public vote - but not close enough to knock the most popular out of the top spot

I'm sorry, but Jade should not be allowed to carry on. How can you miss one round of a knockout competetion through injury, yet stay in it ???

It would be like Federer v Murray at Wimbledon. Federer pulls out through injury, yet makes it through to the last round.............at Murray's expense.

The show is verging on the ridiculous now. It would be a total farce if Jade is allowed back in the competetion as though nothing has happened

And before anyone jumps in, I have nothing at all against Jade. I would say the same if it happened to anyone

Yes, a Saturday night entertainment show is exactly the same as a serious sporting competition that people have been training there entire lives for.
