I'm sorry, but Jade should not be allowed to carry on. How can you miss one round of a knockout competetion through injury, yet stay in it ???
It would be like Federer v Murray at Wimbledon. Federer pulls out through injury, yet makes it through to the last round.............at Murray's expense. The show is verging on the ridiculous now. It would be a total farce if Jade is allowed back in the competetion as though nothing has happened And before anyone jumps in, I have nothing at all against Jade. I would say the same if it happened to anyone or Zoe back onto the show...or more likely the judges votes are carried over and no one is eliminated next week.

Why do you think that?
![]() She was dressed, made up, hair done etc. and ready to go. Quote:
I think Lizzie meant that if Jade hadn't been injured then LAILA would have pulled out. Suggesting that Laila didn't want to pull out because they were already one person down.
I'm so gutted for Jade and sad that we'll probably not see her dance again. I really wanted her to win. Just hope there are no lasting repercussions for her career. |

So, this is now a personality contest, not a dancing contest.

Afternoon my bit of DS totty
<smooooooooooooooch!>I totally agree with you regarding both Natalie & Chris (and I said as much on their Appreciation Threads !!).They are my favourites, but the 9's they were awarded were just silly. Len and Alesha have made a mockery of the scoring this year. It's all hypothetical but I can't help wondering if Jade and Ian's tango would have lived up to its promise. |

It's all hypothetical but I can't help wondering if Jade and Ian's tango would have lived up to its promise. It was one of the dances I was most looking forward to last night (I love the Duran Duran track Ian chose). So I was bitterly disappointed when they revealed Jade had to pull out. I wish her a speedy recovery - I really hope this isn't the end of her Strictly experience. That would be so depressing. I'm sure, being an ardent fan of hers, you're absolutely gutted - and I'm sorry about what's happened to your favourite

It`s a TV show....and it is fair because everyone is made aware of the rules when they sign up.....Anyway if her knee has popped she wont be dancing next week as her athletics career is far more important to her than appearing on Strictly and she wont be doing anything that might exacerbate her injury....I`am just a little miffed we may have yet another 2 man/woman final....The BBC can`t let this happen again.....So it`s either a vote to allow Phil/Graig
or Zoe back onto the show...or more likely the judges votes are carried over and no one is eliminated next week. And don't the rules allow , now, for the last eliminated celebrity to come back if another drops out ? I assume Phil and Katya would come back next week. I had a similar knee injury a couple of years ago . I stepped up on a chair to get something out of the cupboard and I heard something go in my knee . It was excruciating. I walked with a stick for several weeks , though I did manage to drive the car after 5 days, and it was literally weeks before I could walk downhill or downstairs . |

Well if you're not prepared to put your money where your mouth is you're not really in a position to complain about eliminations etc.

I wish all the couples had received a free pass to next week.
It would have been a fitting gesture after what was a rather strange and very depressing show. I don't think the public would have kicked up a fuss. The money generated from votes could have been given to charity or refunded. |

In which case if Jade has to pull out they could easily do this again so they have 3 finalists. |

They only put all three semi finalists into the final because of the tied at the top thing and Tom couldn't be saved from the dance off. I think the BBC will be more organised this year and have a clear plan about what they'll do. I wonder if they'll bring back the highest scoring eliminated couple - would that be Zoe and James

This comment puzzles me - what did I post that suggests I'm judging Ricky by different standards to anyone else?
I know he's your favourite - but sometimes you are a little oversensitive to criticism of him. We all have opinions and all are equally valid. I did notice that he mentioned Jade (I actually thought he was the only one) and I thought it kind and considerate of him. ![]() Sorry it was a general comment to the hypocritical Ricky Bashers on here Ignazio, not to you. I dont think Im oversensitive. If your favourite was getting ripped to shreds about some really silly things on here then I think you would be unhappy about it. I think a lot of the things said about Ricky are very distasteful and does spoil my enjoyment of posting on here. I was the same last year about Rachel and Lisa - and I was a Tom fan. I just dont think it is necessary. So Im not being oversensitive, Im just trying to defend a person who hasnt done anything so bad to deserve whats being said about him on here. Its the same with Natalie Cassidy. I dont like her, but Im not ripping her to shreds and keep making pointed comments about her weight like a lot of others do. I do think she is overmarked and stuff but Im still happy to allow her supporters to extol her virtues on here without jumping on their backs or calling them names. |

I do understand - and today I've been staggered at the lack of sympathy directed toward Jade and the injury which could threaten her Olympic chances in London 2012. Not only that, but the insinuations that Laila faked her injury beggared belief.

Some people on here really need to rethink their attitude because I am increasingly horrified by the nastiness and schadenfreude exhibited on this forum. I just want to talk about the pretty dresses, The Claudia and THE DANCING!!!!

Just wanted to say how much I agree with this. I've read a little of what you are talking about and it's just awful. Jade and Laila didn't deliberately injure themselves, for goodness sake.

I`am with you guys...I`v only briefly scanned a few threads today but I could`t believe some posters inferred that injuries had been faked and that Jade should have automatically been eliminated last night.
I'm not going to suggest disingenuously that I can't believe some people disagree with me....because I understand the opposing view, I accept expediency and optimum fairness are sometimes incompatible and I recognise there's no perfectly fair solution. Regarding the injuries, some people are really reaching in their desire to find 'evidence' of faking or exaggeration...though I think keeping a somewhat open mind makes sense. |

I too think it's appalling that people are accusing Jade and Leila of faking. Jade deserved a pass she injured herself at the last minute and would not have gone anyway unless she was very unlucky with whom she ended up in the dance-off with had she not injured herself if she does pull it will be a shame but I think we can all understand that SCD is not as important as the celeb's career.
I think Tuffers was the right person to have been eliminated - Ricky upped his game and danced better in the DO and that's what it should be about, Nat Cass was horribly over-marked and I hope her and Vinny have their tongues in their cheek when they are talking about winning or they are horribly wrong. I wish she gone but what can you do. She's clumpy and it's nothing to do with being a big girl Tish Dean was a big lady and she was a lovely ballroom dancer. |
