I felt quite choked seeing Jade and Ian backstage. I was desperate to see their tango, I'm sure it would have been amazing. I wish Jade a speedy recovery and hope to see her back next week.

She didn't really have an option to dance, the injury happened just before the show so there was no time for a proper assessment. She would have needed x rays, scans etc before knowing whether she had done any major damage. No medic in his right mind would have said dance on it. laila had been to hospital and told she could dance on her ankle.
She could not risk her whole carerr and olympic chances for an entertainment show,
I know that we were al despearet to see ian in the Tango, but our thoughts must all go out to jade and fingers crossed that with rest and ice that it will turn out to be ok

Yep, real bad luck for them. Also for the show itself. If she can't dance again, and it becomes one of those years where they have to have a two couple final only instead of a three, this doesn't seem a very good year to do that. They could lose quite an audience share with certain two couple combos.

I hope Jade's injury isn't as bad as anticipated, particularly in terms of her career.

In terms of Strictly, I would love her to be fit enough dance next week and that they would have her do the Tango. It would give her more time to recover if she didn't have to learn a new dance.

This is true, I feel there is no question of Jade pulling out for a "bye", she was clearly looking forward to dancing the tango from the training clips.

I said something similar earlier. It would have been nice if they had shown it on the show but if we don't get to see it next week (which I hope we do), I would love them to show it on ITT.

Real pity they couldn't dance, based on training footage it could have been the dance of the night. The show sorely needed that tonight, there were no really good dances.

Given they had video footage of their dress rehearsal (as shown at the start of the show), would one option, that would have been fairer to the other dancers, have been to show that DR footage to the judges, and let them vote based on that?

I guess the problem is what you do if they ended up in the dance off, but they could well have had that issue with Laila and Anton and they didn't seem worried.

I am guessing that if it was a threat to 2012 or her career, she wouldn't have been on at the start of show all made up - she wouold have already gone for her tests.

Edit - haven't performances on DWTS been based on training before? Wonder why they didn't do that? Hopefully she will be able to have a week off and do tango next week
