God knows.

I think it's her hair. How dare she change her style every week, huh? That's so unprofessional. You don't catch Len changing his hairstyle each week, do you?

You is so right! I knew there was some reason for me thinking she was flighty.

OP, assuming you're talking about this week, as there is already a thread about her comments last week, what did she say tonight which gave you that impression?

Alas over the last few weeks she has become so "up herself" and full of her own importance that she is coming across in a very bad light.

The "temper tantrum" last week over Craig Kelly really showed her bad side and yet the BBC didn't pull her up over it. Tonight again she showed blatant dislike of a contestant with Ricky Groves - she made a bit of a start on him as her next target to dismiss last week.

Alesha why why why are you behaving like some prima donna - you have been a contestant you are supposed to be the spokesperson for "us" the viewers and judge from a former contestant perspective, you are doing neither. Remember a few weeks in a competition learning to dance - albeit you did win - DOES NOT qualify you to attack and pick on the contestants the way you are doing - I feel you really need taking down a peg or two and for me roll on Darcey Bussell taking part - you will not then deem yourself to be Crown Princess of the judging panel.

Rant over - as I initially said I was more than prepared to give her a fair go - but you have really (in my eyes) let the brief down”

I would have thought it makes her perfectly qualified to point out who should go. Arguably her role is to tell the voters who is past their sellby date in the hope that they will believe her more than they did Craig or Bruno or Len or Arlene last year. I would have thought many viewers would be telling Craig or Ricky G the same thing through their TV screen and a lot of better contestants would be upset if the weakest dancers stayed whilst they left - it wasa problem in her year too so she is fully aware of it. Perhaps she has been told to transmit the message clearly because thats the way the production team think it might get through?

I lost all respect for Alesha last week and she has a very long way to go to win it back but she was a little bit better tonight - apart from the odd you was and the "oooh look at me I am Alesha Dixon" attitude. She would have gone a long way up in my estimation if she had the grace to apologise for her outburst last week - but, sadly she didn't and acted like nothing happened the week before.

Same here. I used to like her so much, she just annoys me now, I really hope the BBC don't bring her back next year!

Exactly.

I think the whole hairstyling thing highlights* the condescending and superior attitude which is annoying so many people.

Katrina, I admire your efforts, that's all I can say.

The words "digging" and "her own grave" spring to mind.

I didn't want Alesha as a judge in the beginning but only because she wasn't qualified for the job. With her inclusion and a rather sorry set of contestants this year, Strictly has become a bit of a bore. It may not last much longer.

I don't like Alesha because the contents of her comments are less authoritative and informative than the comments from the other judges.

But I don't give a monkey's about:
- Her blandness
- Her snideness
- Her facial expressions
- Her grammar
- Her hairstyle
- any other superfluous and irrelevant stylistic detail.

And neither should anyone else.

EDIT: Ooh, 1.666 posts

She can be criticised just like the other judges too, right?

I mean without the criticism being dismissed on the grounds that those who are against her will criticise her no matter what, which is not said when other judges are criticised (at least not enough that I've been able to notice it.)

Well I was a big critic of Alesha last week but tonight she kept her sharp tongue to herself so that's OK by me. She was much better than last week IMO, and I can't particularly say I saw much snideness either, but I'm watching it again tomorrow with hubby so I'll have a closer look I'm pretty sure she was alright though - I'm more bothered by what actually comes out of her mouth rather than her expressions etc.

Alesha has a very 'direct' way of speaking so I think that the things she says sometimes sound worse than they would do otherwise, if you know what I mean!

Is I? What, even after playing The Hair Card?

I can't help feel there's a "thread for lazy journalists" article to be done based on this thread... trouble is I'm too lazy to write it.

Blah blah blah, she's too bland, blah blah blah, she's too mean, blah blah she says 'was' instead of 'were', blah blah, she should be more technical, blah blah, she isn't qualified to make remarks about technique, blah de blah blah blah.

Has become very much a Diva in my opinion. Very up herself - if I was a contesant I would not take into account anything Ms. Dixon has to say. Not a qualified dancer so why take on board any of her comments.

Very bad move by the Beeb to employ her! If they wanted a "younger model" why not Karen Hardy. There was nothing wrong with Arlene she was an excellent judge.

And you're all calling Alesha snide!? Pot, kettle, black comes to mind.

I really don't care about her either way. I think Karen should have been the new judge, I think she's fantastic. Although I'm sure people would have moaned about her too. Over silly things.

I think people over reacted to Aleshas comments last week. Craig was dire and no way should he have been in Blackpool. Everyone just looking for an excuse to knock her.
