OP, assuming you're talking about this week, as there is already a thread about her comments last week, what did she say tonight which gave you that impression?
It wasn't what she said last night why the OP gave this comment - it was what she has said in previous weeks. Some people remember rudeness and stroppy fits.

Has become very much a Diva in my opinion. Very up herself - if I was a contesant I would not take into account anything Ms. Dixon has to say. Not a qualified dancer so why take on board any of her comments.

Very bad move by the Beeb to employ her! If they wanted a "younger model" why not Karen Hardy. There was nothing wrong with Arlene she was an excellent judge.
There was so much wrong with Arlene - all of it very well-documented but conveniently overlooked/forgotten in Alesha-gate. That's a can of worms that just isn't worth opening.

As for last night: snide? Please provide examples from last night's show to back up your argument. Like other posters, I have no idea what this is a reference to ... so, whether it's intended to or not, it just comes across as gratuitous Alesha-bashing ...

Not Karen Hardy (excellent dancer) but never knows when to shut up but certainly a trained dancer with more experience than one show under their belt.

what she said to Craig at Blackpool was unforgiveable. She has got this unpleasant mouthy swagger about her.
Everything Alesha says comes across as insincere largely because she is built from the same mould as all modern celebrities - attractive but shallow. There is no substance to her, just like her diabolical pop songs.

I've gone after Alesha after last week. I think she gives 9s out way too easily, Chris's paso deffs didn't deserve a 9 last night imo but I think she favours him over the others if I'm honest.

I thought Alesha last night made great efforts to be a) positive and b) confined to the dance she'd just seen. It seemed to me as though she had taken note of the criticisms levelled at her for last week and tried to 'do it better'.

I also think that it's understandable that some posters feel that she'd broken their trust last week and that they are now viewing what she says in a different light.

Trust, once broken, and even in something as cosmically trivial as Strictly, takes a while to rebuild. We all know that. And I actually see Alesha as a bit of a grafter. I think she knows it too, and she's taking the sensible route: least said soonest mended; get on with the job; let things die down naturally.

Thinking about the fourth judge - how about a guest judge each week from world of dance - someone who has not got to know the contestents personally. It could be very interesting to have some of the junior dance champions - they themselves are still learning so would be hot on technical points.

At the beginning of the series, I thought I would give the girl a chance.

Over the last few weeks she hasa got alot worse. The comment she made last to Ricky was way out of order.

I think she would've been better doing what Tess does. then being a judge.

I don't like Alesha because the contents of her comments are less authoritative and informative than the comments from the other judges.

But I don't give a monkey's about:
- Her blandness
- Her snideness
- Her facial expressions
- Her grammar
- Her hairstyle
- any other superfluous and irrelevant stylistic detail.

And neither should anyone else.

EDIT: Ooh, 1.666 posts
God, you're bossy

Hmm, I've just finished watching the show and I'm not sure where Alesha's snideness appeared last night.

Was it a specific comment she made to a contestant or just her overall demeanour, because I've gotta be truthful - I didn't see that at all

If I fly abroad 2 or 3 times a year and a steward came up and said "Hey, you seem to know about flying in an aeroplane, how about we kick the pilot out of his chair and you take the reigns.
Thats how I feel about the pointless comments Alesha makes. Just window dressing.
I totally agree. Brilliant post.

In that case, why didn't he post his comment in that thread instead of starting yet another one?

As the show goes on the petty, prejudiced, mealy-mouthed criticisms of Alesha seems to be bordering satirical.

Next, there'll be a competition for who can come up with the most ridiculous Alesha-criticism.

Perhaps we could start taking bets on who the winner will be?

What a silly comparison. Alesha undoubtedly picked up a lot from Matthew Cutler when they were dancing together. She has also worked closely with choreographers for her concerts and shows over the years, so I'm sure she has learned a lot from them too. She certainly gives the impression that she knows what she's talking about.

Unforgivable? She said what a lot of viewers (including me) were thinking. She wasn't saying it was Craig's fault. She was pointing out someone else was a better dancer. Big deal.

And Alesha has some pretty great pop songs under her belt. I saw her live this week, and it was a very enjoyable gig.

No, I'm not suggesting she should have a poker face, but that particular expression is superior and condescending. This adds up to a somewhat negative overall impression of her professionalism.
She might look haughty but her speech patterns give her away as someone who has not had much of an education.

I'd like to think that this series will be a 'one off' for Alesha as a judge.

The BBC tried something out, but I think the majority opinion is that it hasn't worked and its maybe best to cut and run when this series ends.

I think the panel has its good and bad points but is generally sound and I'd like to see the fourth judge be a professional dancer/choreographer who knows what they're talking about and whose opinions you and the contestants can respect.

Karen Hardy has shown on ITT that she can give an excellent critique - whatever people's personal opinions may be about her. I respect her very much and would welcome her on the panel as I would Camilla Dallerup for the same reasons.

She had a place at Loughborough University which she gave up in order to follow her singing career. Even allowing for the fact it was to study Sports Science, presumably she had to have passed GCSE English? I'm a little out of touch now but the minimum requirements for Uni entry used to be English and Maths GCSE and we're talking a decade ago given her age.

I wanted to give Alesha a chance and thought everybody should have before she started. I haven't really been bothered by her until the last two weeks. Last week I thought her comments to Craig were horrible and it wasn't just what she said but they way in which she did. Last night her comments didn't bother me at all but I personally got the feeling she has personal favourites and that it affects her marking. This is just my opinion but to give Natalie and Chris a 9 last night was and I feel has a soft spot for Ricky W

She should be kicked out for fornicating with one of the celebs she's marking. Very unprofessional (if she is of course )

I don't know how he could've possibly missed it -- it's been near the top of the page for the past week.

Quite easy if last night was the first night one had logged on. I may have looked at the site at the start of SCD but that is all. Also it is not just what she says but the way she says it.

You don't GCSE English to go to Uni just A levels or similar in the subject one wishes to study and some Uni's do take very low grades. But that is another story.

I really don't understand this thread. I was pretty vocal about Alesha's comments last week; I thought they were unprofessional, personal and unwise. However, I saw nothing last night to warrant any continuation of the vilification of the previous week.

Last week, I think Alesha deserved pulling up. This week, I'm prepared to wipe the slate clean and start again. And she was okay - no complaints.
