My point is that if her bigger goal/ambition is the Olympics, possibly she should have given Strictly a miss in case she got injured.
That makes little sense though as she still may have sustained an injury during her off-season training like many athletes do. She may as well take the chance and do something else. Don't forget the boxer Floyd Mayweather took part in DWTS in the lead up to his world championship fight with Ricky Hatton

I really hope she gets better, but unfortunatly this could of been her last week, dont knpow the sate of the knee, but I did simaliar when doing a level dance, finished a dance on knees went to get up and loud pop, my knee was dislocated. (I also have a joint prblem though so have loose joints) Since then my knee used to pop out 15-20 times a day, had an op to fix it fine for 5 yrs, BUT know poping out maybe 4-5times a week, and painfull all the time.

I really hope that its not this case for Jade, but feel maybe she needs to rest it to get back to her tripple jump

Fingers crossed and get well soon Jade
So sorry to read about your knee. I do hope they will be able to find a permanent cure. I shudder at the thought of my knee popping like that.

As previously said, lets just wait and see wwhat happens. No medic in his right mind if an injury has just happened would allow anyone to dance on it until a proper assessment has been carried. She could have dance and caused serious damage, let alone sue any medic who said she could dance. the difference with laila was she did it earlier in the day, had been to hospital and had been assessed. Jades injury happened only a couple of minutes before the show, so no'one had a chance to fully asess it.
Fingers crossed that its not too serious, and with rest and ice thing will be alright. She will have had many injuries in her career and she will know how serious it is. As much as we all want to see her dance as she is a contender it is only a entertainment show, she has her caeer and the olympics to think about.
Fingers crossed jade we are all thinking about you
I thought it happened during the dress rehearsal which was earlier this afternoon not minutes before the show.

In your opinion it makes little sense My point is she has got injured doing a TV show/Personality Contest/Dance competition and that may not have happened during her normal training...why take the risk?

This is the voice of common sense. It looks bad, and it may well be that she has to withdraw if it's not going to be better in a few days, but until it's been preperly assessed we just don't know. Of course she will have to prioritise her athletics training.

I really hope she will be able to continue in Strictly as she and Ian are my favourites, but she will be advised and will make her decision in a day or two, depending on the outcome of examinations, x-rays, scans etc..

As an athlete, it's a risk just doing your usual training so why not? Usain Bolt took part in a charity cricket match recently. He could have been hit on the head with a bat and/or ball.

I'm hoping that she'll be able to continue with the show but I don't want her to risk her career by doing further damage to her leg - it's just an entertainment show at the end of the day.

It's weird, I was literally thinking yesterday that this is the first time since I started watching (series 4) that no-one would be pulling out of the show. And now I have a feeling Jade will be

Think they are going to have a problem next week as they may well be 2 dancers down. Even if Jade and Laila's injuries were to heal enough to allow them to dance (which I doubt particularly in Jade's case although "just" a sprained ankle takes time too), they are not going to heal quickly enough to start learing their new dances till too late in the week surely. So where do they go next week if they are 2 dancers down?

Despite really liking Jade and admiring her dancing, she should have been eliminated tonight.
She didn't dance and that's the end of it. There should be no free pass out of fairness for the others.

I hope that Jade does get the dance again as I was really hoping she'd win. Her and Ian's partnership was great and I would have liked to see them win.

Get well soon Jade

Poor Jade & Poor Ian.
She may have to choose between this and her sporting career. I hope she doesn't have to make the choice.

The rules allow the celebrity to sit out the show for one week only. However, with two injured dancers, I think tonight's circumstances were exceptional. I'd have preferred no one to have been eliminated this week.

If two have to sit it out next week, they should bring back the two highets scoring losers to dance.

Presumably, the same rules allow Laila to sit out next week's show on the strength of the ankle needing a rest from training, and unlike Jade, she hasn't used up her 'bye' tonight?

I think if they'd asked all the others they would have been quite happy for her to have a free pass.

As it is, I have big doubts we'll be seeing her again.

I'd love for us to be able to see her tango though - wonder if they can show it from dress rehearsal footage in ITT?

I really hope Jade gets to dance again - but not at the expense of her athletic career. I feel sick at the thought her lifes work may be over

My heart breaks for Ian as well as he was lifting her from the floor and probably feels guilty as hell

Jade's panic regarding the implications for her sporting career spoke volumes in the clips shown tonight. I don't think she will take the risk, I don't actually see how she could even be in a position to practice for next week, impossible, so thats one gone. On the same theme.... I was so sorry that Layla didn't go tonight and leave the boys in who CAN practice for next week. How on earth can she practice with a sprained ankle. Ridiculous.

Jade would have been starting to compete in January, if this injury is bad it could put back her training and competing in meets back by months not just weeks

She has trained for this most of her life, I dont think she should even think of comming back into SCD

her training and competing towards 2012 is far more important

Then she, or more probably Anton (who could be heard saying told you so when they went through!) played a blinder given the difficult circumstances.

I tend to agree with the OP, she has screwed up her chances for her sport which was pointed out in the beginning of the show. I think she will pull out so she can get fit for her next sporting event.
I agree too. Sad to see her go though

I shed quite a few tears this evening over Jade and then Laila.
Wouldn't it be great if they gave Strictly a week off next week to give time for everyone to recover (including Bruce, not that I care so much about his return). It will also mean if Jade pulls out of the comp then they can still have three in the final.
Put a movie on next week BBC, and give the guys a week off!

Jade's priority has to be athletics. She is already late starting winter training which will put her back a couple of months but maybe she wasn't planning to do the indoor season. She has the European Champs and the Commonwealth Games to think about, both of which are next season.
I love her dancing, but love her more as a long jumper. I just hope that she's going to be fit to start training as she planned in January.
