I’m having a big problem with a green screens on turning on easily fixed by changing channel however tonight was a problem heres what happened
I set box to record for the last 30 min of come dancing changed channels to watch Xfactor at 8.30 changed back couldn’t stop the recording, without turning the box off as on changing back to Freesat channel all I could get was the green screen and it would not change channel or stop recording HELP
I had no problems before upgrades

Thanks Digitalspy i just posted this and got a big red banner telling me whos be voted off Thanks for spoiling my recording

I was having regular green screen issues with my HDR and my Sony W2000, but since the upgrade it's only happened once, so i'd say its an improvement for me. To fix the issue turn the AV channel over and then back again.

What make of TV do you have?, Humax (Bob) told me to contact Sony for a new firmware but no other HDMI device causes green screen issues (i.e PS3, Panasonic DVD & Bush freesat box). Since the upgrade it's now at an acceptable level though....at least for me.

The box wouldn't change channel i tried changing tv but came back to green screen i think it was displaying the "what do i want to stop recording" box thinking about it, the only thing i could do was power off

Mine is a pioneer plasma it seems that the upgrade has buggered more than the HDMI picture switching

I too am now having Green Screen issues since the upgrade when I first switch to the HDMI channel my Humax feeds. Usually goes away if I change channel. I have a Sony KDL-40X2000. Is it possible to upgrade firmware on this TV? I must check.

I see another problem here If you put something on pause then switch back to TV channel to watch the end of something that overlaps, when you got back to Humax box and get the green screen the only way out is to change channel and loose what you have in the buffer

I have a Pioneer 428XD Kuro and have no problems Alan.

How do you have it connected?

My HDR is connected via HDMI to Input 3. I use Input 1 for Blu Ray. Maybe switching your Inputs would might help however, consult the manual as on Pioneer many of the Input are dedicated to certain types of signal.

BTW I use 16:9 and Auto for the signal formats in the Humax TV menu.

Only other thing I can think of is to go through all the Humax output settings to see if anything has been changed post update. You could also try setting the Pioneers HDMI input port your using up again and resaving the settings.

Also try re-selecting and saving the HDCP enabled setting on the Humax.

Mine is a PDP-436XDE and has been happy handshaking with the Humax box for the last nearly year changeing inputs or anything else on the TV does not help, i cheaked pioneer site theres no updates for my TV
I have however i think found a workaround till Humax get the fix to the HDMI problems thats changing the "VFormat" and cycling till I am back to original

I've been having a green screen problem too since installing the new software. It is very reproducible and was never a problem with the previous firmware:
if I switch from the Humax HDMI input to the coax-feed (for digital terrestrial TV) OK, but switching back to the Humax causes the green screen. I've got a Philips 42in LCD. The workaround for this is to ensure the Humax is off before returning to the HDMI input, or unplug the HDMI cable for a few seconds and then plug it back in again.
Reading this forum, the update seems to have cured some greenscreen problems but in my case it has created one.

Alan,

Is your TV similar to the model discussed in this thread?

It looks like a similar problem, albeit with Sky HD, but Pioneer acknowledged it and offered a free fix for all models irrespective if in warranty or not.

I'm not going to get into whether it worked before, or whether Humax have made HDMI/HDCP more/less compliant, giving different results, but it might be worth you following the link up.

Rgds.

Just done "Factory Reset" and it does seen to have fixed the HDMI switching / green screen trouble i have switched back to TV 6+ times now without problems
Looks like its worth a try if you are having any problems after upgrading

I have just done a Factory Reset & the green screen problem is still there. I switch to the built in digital tuner of my TV & then back to the HDMI Humax port & bingo; the green screen is there. As I mentioned before, changing channels on the Humax restores the picture & also, as someone else suggested, cycling the Vformat button. It would be nice if there was a way to save the tuning & channel editing because every time I do a factory reset, it all has to be done again.

Why would you want to watch X Factor rather than SCD? X Factor is brain dead this year!

Watching the twins pee Simon off is priceless but being able to skip Bruce Forsyth is magic

I confirm that I have exactly the same problem - green screen in switching from the digital tuner back to HDMI Humax port; factory reset doesn't help; only solution is to switch channels, cycle the Vformat button or unplug the HDMI lead and replug. I never had this problem before the upgrade.

No, I still have it after .12. I thought it had gone as the first few attempts were clear, but then it returned. I use the Vformat control to get round it.

Still get random green screen problems that all other HDMI hardware does not cause, must be the HDR firmware.

DAM just turned the Freesat PVR on changed channel to it and got the dreaded green screen again so its not fixed

Humax should really put some engineers into sorting this green screen issue out at long last, I get green screen issues with my Sony 40" W2000. I've tested a Bush Hd box, a panasonic HDMI dvd, a Ps3 and a Sky Hd box and the only equipment that causes a green screen is the Humax HDR!

Agreed - I still have my green screen problems.
They started back in Feb or March after a previous update.
Now I get 10 or 15 seconds of audio with the green screen and then that goes.

No problems at all with a W4000 series.
