My estimation of him has gone right up. He's a true gentleman. Loved the way how he treated Laila tonight! No jokes as well, bit subdued actually.

But all in all, I thought it was a great show tonight. Loved Claudia and even Tess wasnt too bad..

He was lovely to her tonight - protective and supportive.

The way he swept her up mid-dance when she couldn't continue - my heart went out to the pair of them.

And you're right - Tess did a good job filling in for Brucie and Claudia was her usual quirky and amusing self I love how they had a little group hug at the end to celebrrate getting through a very difficult show.

Thought he was lovely tonight, you could see him guiding her throughout the dance and was lovely how he swept her up and carried her off.

Mine too, wasn't it sad? You could see that one moment when she put her weight on her foot that was the step too far and he knew enough was enough.

She looked so beautiful too tonight with her hair like that and the VT of them in training talking about being like an old married couple was funny - then it all went wrong.

As opposed to what? Letting her collapse in a heap on the floor and dealing her a swift kick for good measure?
I have a feeling his actions were not entirely selfless.

Anton was lovely tonight but what was with the strapping on Laila's ankle? I really don't understand it. For how bad a sprained ankle actually is and then to dance let alone walk on it with that strapping. I'm not surprised Laila couldn't continue tonight

He was just lovely. There was a touching bit later when he laid his forehead against hers, such a caring gesture.

It was a strange old show tonight.

The VT made me chuckle and Laila looked breath-taking (even Anton looked rather dashing tonight!). It was crushing to see it all fall apart before us

A really strange and sad night for Strictly what with Jade sidelined as well

I hope they are both able to dance next week.

Very heavy bandaging does support a soft tissue injury to some extent and therefore ease the pain temporarily.

I particularly liked the "touching moment" where the microphone picked him up saying "I told you we'd be alright" when their names were called out.

Me too. It was quite moving, actually.

And that's cynical old me saying it.

I was wondering what that was on her leg when the couples were first introduced tonight and why it took her and Anton so long to join the others in the line-up.

I genuinely like the guy, always have and he was great with her tonight. He kept watching her all the time even when they first came down the steps.
It was her decision and I'm sure he didn't influence her at all.

Anton was lovely tonight! I was quite emotional during their rumba even before he swept her up, I would love to see it in full - I think it's possibly (have posted this elsewhere already) that she was so reliant on him tonight, you could see he genuinly cared for her and when the dance is a rumba, that kind of emotion really shows through.

Just my 2 cents anyway!!

I think this is more kicking them when they're down.

I thought he acted with just the right amount of care and consideration towards Laila - not patronising but allowing her to show what she could have done but still stopping her from making the injury worse.

Well done to the 2 of them and hopefully back to fitness for next week.

I do agree with you, I'm just saying that Anton is not suddenly a saint because he picked her up off the dance floor. One does not go from racial slurs to unblemished chivalry in the space of a few weeks.

I agree,I was thinking their Rumba was not going to be too good but from the bit we saw I think it could have been ok.
Hope they get the chance to do it at some point.

The thing is though, it didn't seem to be particularly heavy bandaging and it wasn't supporting her ankle enough in order to walk or dance properly
