Up until his behaviour tonight I only liked Anton because of Laila. But he was a true gentleman, wonderful towards Laila. He is seriously pushing for my favourite Pro! Vincent should be worried!

Of course it does. He's an innocent soul. Her knight in shining armour. How romantic....

I thought the lift was part of the dance at first and was thinking 'there's no lifts in the Rumba!'.

There was a touch of Officer and a Gentleman going on when he lifted her up, it was lovely Poor Laila though

Absolutely. after the race row, it seems like he's just trying too hard to make out they are the best of friends. seems very fake to me. can see right through him.

I'm sure some of the people on here are descended from those old women who sat knitting whilst watching the guillotine at work during the French Revolution or took picnics to watch hangings because it was an entertaining day out.

I can't knit. I would have been one of the urchins with the rotten fruit.

Sometimes I'm moody, bad-tempered, cynical, unkind, thoughtless and all manner of other unpleasant things.

At others I'm loving, generous, thoughtful and prone to committing random acts of kindness.

Maybe Anton's a mere mortal too

Anton was lovely tonight. So kind and my heart went out to both of them. Poor Laila, she was so brave to even attempt to dance. Am really pleased she was not in the Dance Off (said this on another thread) - how cruel that would have been to make her dance again.

I do hope she makes a speedy recovery. A sad evening - I missed seeing Jade and I do hope we get a chance next week to see her Tango. It looked amazing in rehearsals.

The physical therapists at my football club can work wonders with a bit of tape. And you can't see it beneath the socks. I'm quite sure the Beeb managed to find a decent doctor or physio that taped her ankle in a way that gave her some support wihout restricting movement too much.

Didn't the lovely Claudia comment on how swollen the ankle looked?

Tonight reminded me why I love him so much. He just supported Laila, no jokes no dodgy one liners, just the lovely bloke that he is. Good luck to Laila for a speedy recovery. Xx

Don't be ridiculous. All humans have the ability to be lying, selfish, hypocritical egotists one moment and then selfless, generous and caring just seconds later, let alone a few weeks. Using the P-word didn't make Anton pure evil, and tonight's act of chivalry didn't make him perfect. He's just a flawed human being like the rest of us. He was rightly criticised after using the P-word, and he should be commended when he does something nice as he did tonight.

Most of us do, it gives us balance. If you never do anything wrong, how can you ever improveand grow as a human being?

It must be getting late, I seem to be in danger of becoming philosophical

It's that weird time between midnight and one o'clock - the witching hour!

No, you didn't say that.

You said, regarding his actions on yesterday's show:

Which is not the same as saying "Anton is not suddenly a saint" as a general critique.

You specifically implied that his actions in comforting Laila were motivated by selfish reasons.

That explains it, thanks Buddy.

Time for me to call it a night, I think. I went out 'to play' last night and my angel was very busy so I fear the little devil may waken soon.

Well done to the 2 of them and hopefully back to fitness for next week.”

Well said Bonnie, Anton guided her through the spins and made sure she was steady. There are a lot of spin turns in the dance and you can get light headed if your are not careful. Give her credit for trying and Anton for being such a TRUE GENT. I am getting so fed up with the posters that just want to knock him all the time.

Please ST don't start all this over again. Things have just calmed down and now it is being mentioned again. If we are not careful it will be another nearly 3,000 thread again.

did anyone see him carry her off after the judges comments aswell??
and then again when they got through to next week
he was just looking after his partner because she was upset and in pain, not quite sure how that starts a row? lol

I was wondering if maybe the votes were to save Anton and not Laila. Anton is the best male dancer and I always watch him more than his partner in each series.

I also thought it was so sweet the way he picked her up because he knew she was in pain.

It was quite touching, what would syou suggest he'd said to her between dancing and the voting - 'Ah well, that's us out you clumsy mare' or 'We'll be okay, the public will save us, don't worry'

Am I the only totally twisted one who would love him even more if he said the former?!
[which, before TNOTW runs it as an exclusive, he totally didn't!]
