You think it is.

It certainly wasn't worth the marks it got , definitely not 9s.

I thought it was very ungainly and had too many pauses and more mistakes but not the worst dance of the night, that was Laila's rumba and it would probably have been the worst if she had been fit and finished it .

There wasn't much to choose between the rest at all last night .
You've just agreed with my statement there after trying to disagree with it.

The award for the weakest finished dance goes to either Natalie Cassidy (overmarked for a FT where she went so stumbly it was untrue in the middle section) or poor Tuffers.

No. I didn't think it was utter codswallop to suggest it was the worst completed dance You thought that .

There was greater parity over all dances last night , apart from Laila's rumba .And I thought Ricky's was no better than any of the others, but it did have as many mistakes.

I thought Ali's was possibly the most boring cha I have ever seen on the show from a talented dancer .

But I do very much disagree that Tuffers' Foxtrot was the weakest completed dance. I thought it was very good and hewas very unlucky to go out last night .
Len was getting rid of a couple who were popular and may have stayed too long and forced a better couple into the dance off . Such a shame he WAS penalised for making a mistake when others aren't .

I was very disappointed with nearly all the dances really as I thought from the footage on ITT that it was going to be a night of sparkling high scoring , for the right reason , dancing .

I do believe Jade's tango may have been a real showstopper .

I am not having a go at Ricky or his fans ; he is very good ,but not great and I think he and Ali are being awarded quite inflated scores .Especially Ricky as he is very prone to many mistakes and I really think his bandy legs detract from his dancing .

I have no favourite at all this year so I try to be objective when I pass comments.

I have to be honest the Jive is not a favoutite of mine at all. But two from Strictly have stood out and one even holds a place as one of my fave ever Strictly routines. Firstly its an obvious one but it really was something special Jill and Darrens. And then one of my favourite ever strictly dances Gethin and Camila. I am not a dancer and I have no doubt that some could tell me that technically it wasnt upto the standard of Austin or Lousia, but frankly I couldnt care less how perfect it wasnt.
I LOVED IT I even loved his "pecuilar" hands

Was Rickki's the fastest? I havent a scoobies but watching Austins back. I would put a wager on Austin being faster. and I didnt enjoy Rikkis perfomance last night at all, I found it a bit cringey.

I found it a bit cringey too but that was the choreography rather than Ricky. I'm not his greatest fan but I do think Natalie is failing him a little. Her routines are manic. If he was just allowed to dance I would enjoy it much better.

It was all that cheesy winking to the audience stuff. Nattalie's choreography was to blame though. Or at least for his sake I hope to god it was and he wasnt doing it of his own accord

I could also have done without the sitting on the desk stuff at the beggining.

I enjoyed it. Not the best jive I've seen on strictly (Jill and Darren for me), but good enough to merit the overall position on the scoreboard.

I assumed the cheesey winking was planned. God I hope so! The sitting on the desk was just awful and they were gurning in parts too....why do you have to pull funny faces when you are jiving....why?????????

He is a great dancer and whereas I won't be voting for him as I like others better I still love to see an entertaining routine danced well. If he had been with another pro I think Ricky would have been much better

I've not seen anyone else mention it, but as soon as the jive started, I thought Ricky lifted Nat off the desk and then lifted her to get her to the floor. Based on Karen's explanation during ITT, Nat could not have done those without Ricky's assistance, so they counted as lifts. Does anyone agree?

I hadn't considered that, but moments later Ricky did a leapfrog over Natalie and seemed to me to use her as a springboard (I haven't seen a replay to double check). Using Karen's explanation wouldn't that be considered as a lift too?

They danced to the music (Rip it Up by Little Richard) that Mark and Kristi jived to in DWTS. Oftentimes the Americans value sparkle over substance, but in this case, I very much prefer the American one:

34 points.

8,8,9,9.

Completely disagree it was the weakest complete dance of the night..... Actually, I thought it was by far the best of that night. However, if I recall correctly, Tom & Austin were the only two dancers worth getting excited over on that night anyway.

That said, I think it could easily have merited 7,8,9,8 (Len would probably have used the 9 paddle anyway).

I can still watch Austin's Jive now and love it. It felt like there was a bit of pressure on him to show he could do Latin, since Len had so generously given them a 9 in the first week.

Unfortunately, I think the really high scores helped set him up for the fall later in the series when his Latin starting lacking that little spark.
I think there's crossed wires here - the Jive referred to with 35 points was Ricky's, 34 points for Austin.
Totally agree about Austin and Tom btw - the 2 dances I watch over and over with Austin having the edge

As for Ricky's, I too cringed at the cheesiness and the speed over technique which, if he gets to the 2 dance weeks, is going to let him down big time.

I noticed too that Alesha could not look anybody in the eye when giving her judgment on it - make of that what you will
