Just tried to set a series timer for "The Andrew Marr Show" for Sunday 22nd next on my HDR and got this...

(bear in mind I don't have ANY reservation scheduled already at all for that day (also that I am in the Scotland area))

-------------------->8-----------------------------------------------------------
Cannot reserve this programme due to a conflict. Please cancel a
previous reservation.

-- The Andrew Marr Show 09:00 ~ 10:00 22/11 101 BBC 1SCO (this one is greyed out)
The Andrew Marr Show 09:00 ~ 10:00 22/11 958 BBC 1OX
The Andrew Marr Show 09:00 ~ 10:00 22/11 956 BBC 1NEC
-------------------------------->8-----------------------------------------------

Since NONE of these are already in my schedule, even if I go over any of them and press OK, nothing happens!

If I select a non-series event, it sets up ok

What on earth is going on?? Is this screwed up EPG data or has this latest update screwed something else up??

Could someone else try this please and let me know what happens on your box? This is REALLY annoying!

It's nothing to do with File Manager.

The BBC have chosen to code this prog up with a Series CRID only, no Prog CRID.

Previously, these would cause havoc with recordings, sometimes doing it, but more often than not, failing.

This is where Humax have tried to overcome these broadcaster shortcomings, and these will now actually record (I think someone has already reported Click recording OK now). But, the unfortunate knock on effect, is increased recording conflicts where there is only this code. It is mentioned in the Release Notes.

I've seen someone with a Humax HDR with the recording failure symbol against a recording and the message "Your recording was corrupted due to interruption due to a conflict with a higher priority recording".

Points:

1. The recording was still there and played back fine in full despite the message and failure symbol

2. How can you have a conflict anyway as the epg doesn't allow you to schedule conflicts?

3. Even if 2. had of been true, how would it know which was higher priority?

Message doesn't make sense and recording was fine.

Afraid its down to the software update.

This is nothing to do with OP's problem, at all.

Until the BBC fix it, it's staying like that. Humax have done all they can to overcome the problem.

Hi I am in Scotland and see the exact same thing. Looks like it is planning to record the two regional stream and makes the 3 (Scotland) a conflict.

You would be wrong yet again

Similar message was annotated in previous versions.

I'll give you some clues, but cannot be bothered to explain it fully.

No it's not it's the same as always. The message is generated by accurate recording overrunning one programme after the point where AR should have started the next recording. Default action is to continue the first recording until the change of status indicates it has finished and the second recording can start. It's not predictable because the scheduled times did not clash. May be you could argue that the message is a bit draconian and say something like "Some of your recording may be missing due to other recordings not conformimg to schedule". It's certainly not new seen it dozens of times

Well, as it turns out, it looks like it got fixed during either overnight maintenance, EPG update or the channel change scan today because I was able to just now set up a series recording for the Andrew Marr show next Sunday and this time there were no conflicts.

Guilty party? The BBC!!

On a wider note, I feel that the broadcast providers really need to pay more and more attention to the accuracy of their EPG data; just to avoid situations like this. There are more and more PVRs out there now of one flavour or another but they are only as good as the data fed to them!
