Am I the only person this happens to?
I love all sorts of music but often I will get an almost obsession like feeling for one song. It usually lasts only a week or two but when theres a song I am really in to I listen to it all the time.
Its virtually always an old song and can be from any genre,
For example some of my past obsessions have included,

Fleetwood Mac - Go your own way
George Jones - He stopped loving her today
The Monkees - Listen to the band
Pink Floyd - See Emily play
David Soul - Silver lady
The Proclaimers - Sunshine on Leith
Smashing pumpkins - Tonight tonight
Werewolves of London - Adam Sandler
Love really hurts without you - Billy Ocean
Witchita Lineman - Glenn Campbell
Telstar - The Tornados
Thug - ZZ Top

They are just the ones off the top of my head and as you can see some arent exactly brilliant songs yet for short periods I loved them.
Anyone else have something similar?

I have a different obsession over an artist usually every month or week
I don't like leaning myself on one artist all the time. I like to branch out. I never used to be like that.

Me too.

Although, as my favorites singers are MJ and Madonna, what I tend to do is if I get tired of them I branch out elsewhere for a while and play almost anything.
Then a month or so later I come back to them. I can never go for long without listening to those two. Love them.

This always happens to me too. I'll usually fall for a song, listen to it on repeat for a few days only to end up sick of it.

The song I always end up going back to though is David Bowie - Lets dance. ;p

I'm always obsessed with MJ's songs, that never changes. But I do get obsessed with other artist's music as well. At the moment I have a bit of a Beyonce obsession.

Me too. I've been a Beyoncé fan since she released her first album (and I was a DC fan before that), but I'm obsessed with her songs this era. I also love MJ.

The monsters of folk album has been pretty much perminantly playing on whatever laptop/cd player/pc/ipod that is near me for a few weeks, but I think that's just because I'm going to see them tomorrow.

Glad about the number of people with smashing pumpkins songs stuck in their head, I always end up with it. Especially their fleetwood mac cover xD

Currently my favourite album too although sometimes I find it difficult to listen to since knowing it will be their last.
Trying to be possitive though.

I can't stop listening to the Fame Monster by Gaga.

I get to Telephone and think, hmm I could really listen to some Beyonce now, and within 1 track of Beyonce (Who I absolutely adore) I am bored and need to listen to Gaga Again. The Entire album is my favourite, all listened to at once lol

Yep, definitely. For most of the year it's been 'One Day Like This' by Elbow, although now it's 'Pencil Full of Lead' by Paolo Nutini.

This time last year it was the Pendulum song, Propane Nightmares.

As far as bands go, I've been obsessed with the Magic Numbers for a fair few years, and before that it was Oasis.

There's about ten Rammstein songs that I just rotate at the moment and don't want to listen to anything else. I'm becoming stupidly obsessed with Rammstein.

'Work' by The Saturdays has been my most played song on iTunes since June. I can't stop listening to it and whenever I have the volume up real loud and i'm walking to school I still sometimes get a bit of goosebumps at the third chorus. I actually love it.

*grumbles about it only making #22 in the charts'

With you on Fleetwood Mac.....they are my current obsessions...which is really a deep and long standing adoration and love of Stevie Nicks.

You go, girl....they are bliddy fantastic. Du Hast, Ich Will and Engel are easily obsessed over, for example....

Awwww! LOL......Wee Shadow!

My current obsessions are a) 'Landslide' by Fleetwood Mac. I 'managed' to find 6 versions of this song...and am just knitting it into my life. And b) the theme tune for 'The Unit' (by Robert Duncan).

BTW, I love this thread.....I am a terrible song obsessive and my husband is driven insane by by my 'need' to constantly repeat songs.

I'm really, really bad for this.
