What Would Have Happened if Laila was in the Dance Off
Just out of curiousity, if she couldn't complete the dance in the main show there's no way she could have done it in the dance off, what would have happened then?

I was so glad they were not in the dance off as it would have meant another big problem for the BBC Jade was injured and couldnt dance and will dance again next week if she is better (which actually I doubt) Laila was injured and chose to dance and couldnt finish her dance.......if she had wanted she could have sat this one out too so if she had been eliminated I think there would have been problems..........personally I think Phil should continue to train because if Jade cant come back I really think Phil should return .

I reckon they would have gone out, lalia gives me the impression shes given up, shes got the capacity to be very good but i think shes just given up and that foot didnt look that bad when they walked off after she stopped dancing before anton picked her up to go back to clauds place she wasnt limping then before anton picked her up to go up the steps.
It looked to me like she didnt like the dance so used the foot as an excuse to get out of it, she was doing alright then just stopped. I think she peeked to early, her confidence has been shattered and shes given up. |

I reckon what they should have done was allowed everyone to progress last night and told us that the phone votes would be rolled over to next week. Although, I've just realised that would mean Jade & Ian would be starting from scratch ![]() I'm not sure what would have been the best solution but it didn't seem right Phil being dumped out last night under very strange circumstances. |

I also think if Laila and Anton were in the dance off they would have conceded and been out of the competition.
If Jade does withdraw I hope the BBC changes its past policy of just carrying on so we end up with a two couple final. When a couple withdraws I'd much rather have a week with no elimination and carry forward that week's scores to be added to the next week's scores. |

I think that if they had to dance, Laila and Anton would have conceded. However, I think that what would probably have happened is they would abandon the dance off that week and have a double eviction or 4 person final if all the rest of the dancers made it that far. Jade may not be back, so that would have kept the numbers right.
I think letting the last evicted back is a bit of a double edged sword. OK, this week it was Tuffers that would come back, but if it had been the week before, Craig might have been reinstated What would happen if the reinstated person went on to win having been booted halfway through the series? Or if the reinstated person who was a bit of a crap dancer continued to knock out much better dancers in the last part of the series when it's usually on merit not popularity? I think it's fairer to skip an eviction with the people hey have left rather than bring back people that have gone.I guess the phone vote would roll forwards too. Just shows what a nightmare phone voting can be for broadcasters. |

Interesting point Jan.

I thought it seemed a bit off Phil going out last night after everything that had happened. It was a strange night and he and Katya got the fuzzy end of the lollipop. |

I don't think the result was particularly unfair TBH. Jade was probably going to score as high as usual, and Laila would probably have done enough to stay out of the dance off. I felt it was probably going to be Tuffers and Ricky G this week anyway.

I think whatever had happened Ricky G and Tuffers would have been in the bottom 2 as well, but I reckon the wrong one went (that's another story), in theory Laila could have chosen not to dance as well then the whole thing would have been thrown into turmoil.
I know the doc said she was ok to dance and that Jade wasn't but as it turned out she "apparently" wasn't able to dance. hmm |

The doctor said it was ok for her to dance but as she was in so much agony she should never have taken part. She should have been given a bye like Jade. Surely the producers would not have eliminated her if she did not take part. Imagine the public outcry.
It certainly saved a lot of embarrassment all round that she did not have to do the DO, as she would have been fed to the wolves and eliminated. |

I think they would have stepped down. The poor girl was visibly limping when she came on - a badly sprained ankle can take WEEKS to heal!
I worry for her chances of learning a new dance, and with lovely Jade possibly out the competition, the Beeb may well have a little crisis on their hands.... |
