Thanks quisling
![]() You're right, there does seem to be a one male/one female rule for TV presenting - which unfortunately usually means the woman is seen as a sidekick rather than an equal. Tess and Claudia were a good team because they werent playing the big 'I am' - the best thing about Saturday was that the dancers really were 'The stars of our show' - Bruce thinks thats him! The whole thing flowed along nicely with no breaks for forced laughter and ego massage for the host, apart from the ridiculous contributions by stand in old timer Corbett! |

With Claudia already working monday to friday, I think she probably wants the Saturday off. Much as I want her to be part of the main show, it's a bit much to expect her to work 6 days a week when she's got young children. Give the woman a day off!
![]() I know it is a lot but then it is only for a few weeks in the year. Not as if she would have to do it for ever! |

Was really impressed with Tess and Claudia. Think it would be great if they fronted the show next year. Bruce isn't as funny as he thinks he is, and doesn't seem like a pleasant man.

I agree with the OP, after Saturday I'd be more than happy to see Tess and Claudia handle it themselves on a permanent basis.

I agree. Let the girls run the show with a slightly revised format.
Tess is competent to me lacks any oomph as for 'love your outfit, hair, shoes' let's not talk about dancing Claudia! Afterthought Tess reminds me of women you see presenting old versions of the Eurovision Song Contest and Claudia the poundshops version of Davina McCall. |

Thought Claudia was brilliant and could not understand why they bothered t o have Ronnie Corbett on the show with his pretend conversation with Bruce!!!!. It was rubbish and embarrrassing as he always does the same act. Silly little me routine. He just is not funny and it would have be better to let Tess and Claudia get on with it. I just love Claudia I think she is very quick witted and great fun. She did a great job and Tess was not bad either but for me she hasn't got the personality and wit of Claudia.

The shame is I think SCD is on the way out, if not... it needs a complete makeover, imo this year is a bit of a flop, for a start they need some new judges that will stick to the rules, how many times have we heard in the dance off the judges can only mark on the last dance, we all know that is a load of nonsense, it didn't work for Zoe and James, yet they saw fit to follow the rules last sat and the better dancer went home. Then you have the nonsensical marking... one point between Polyanna Cassidy and Ricky W and Ali ... is just insane... she should have been out of there weeks ago. Then we come to the presenters, neither Tess or Claudia are good enough, to front a show of any kind. Tess does an OK job of co - presenting, on the other hand Claudia found her niche doing ITT, taken away from that ... I have never managed to watch more than a few minutes of her on any other programme I have seen her in... she is just like marmite...and yes in a bad way.

I'm a bit torn when it comes to Claudia.
I wouldn't miss ITT for the world but I think her quirkyness plays better in that more intimate atmosphere. I also think that if she was to become a regular on the main show she couldn't do ITT as well - partly because she'd be working six days a week, but also (and maybe more importantly) in ITT she plays the part of a fan of the show, not someone who's involved in it. It's this seperateness that makes us feel she's 'one of US' and not part of the 'Strictly Establishment'. I read somewhere that she doesn't work weekends because it'd mess up her family life and I don;t think you can knock her for that. |

Ok - I have the solution!
Tess and Zoe Ball (both experienced 'live' presenters) to do the main show, Claudia to do what she excels at on ITT. Top Gear's got three blokes. Why can't Stricty have three women?

Tess did surprisingly well but I was disappointed by Claude, and I'm one of her biggest fans. She was funny but the funny voices and childish antics were not suitable for the show. I'd like to see more of Claude on the saturday show but hope she tones it down like she did on Hells Kitchen.

Claudia was not a good interviewer on SCD. She has always had a poor technique when asking questions on ITT and it often goes like this.
First Claudia asks a question of the celeb. Next, without allowing an answer to be put forward by the person to whom the question was posed, Claudia suggests one, or sometimes more, possible answers. Now the celeb is given a very short window of opportunity to agree or disagree with Claudia's answers. It would be a total disaster to have her doing any difficult task, and we saw that when she co-hosted JTTOU a few years ago. I say leave her where she is and can't do too much harm. |

wow! Lotsn of sexist comments - lets get rid of the men
Having only females presenters to front big shows does not work. I wont be watching if its an all woman team. Who wants to hear the unproffesional presenters commenting over which male looks hot. Image a male presenter did this, they would be called perverts |

I thought the Tess/Claudia thing worked very well.
Tess was actually better than Claudia. Claudia is starting to grate on me with the cutesy/girly stuff and I don't think it worked in the Tess-pit. Tess did a thoroughly professional presenting job. Much better than Bruce IMO. |

Whatever your take on Alesha, I don't recall her saying "I thought/think you was/is hot" yet.

I really like Claudia on ITT and thought she did well last Saturday. But she's just too jumpy in the main role on big live TV - I watched her do Hell's Kitchen and she was all over the place. It doesn't suit her personality and she's so good at what she does do it would be a shame to try to squish her into a main presenting role.
I was surprised at how well Tess did and wouldn't mind if she was the main Strictly presenter with a male side-kick in the TessPit (but not that awful husband of hers). Doing live TV is harder than it looks (take a look at the car crash that is ImACeleb on ITV2) and you need to have the knack for it. But I'd prefer if someone like Fearne Britton or Paul O'Grady took over from Bruce, who really, really has to go. And his showbiz 'mates'.... |

I enjoyed having Claudia and Tess do the show and like others, felt RC surplus to requirements.
Has anyone else noticed btw, that there have been no threads enquiring after Bruce's health like there have been about Laila and Jade? Does anyone know if he is in fact back this week? |

I think Davina and Claudia have got a lot in common," both are one trick pony's" Davina can do BB Claudia can do ITT take them away from them two shows and imo they are both very, very average. |

I actually prefer the show with Brucie. Tess did a good job front of house, but Claudia wasn't quite right for the show. Ronnie Corbett was surplus to requirements. When Brucie does go, i think he should be replaced by someone younger. I like having a male and female and the fact that Top Gear has three male presenters is no argument for me as I do not like that programme.

After all the drama in last Saturday's Strictly, I actually thought Claudia was the one good thing in the entire episode...
