Hey man !
Best to look at the albums usually listed under trance/ambient William Orbit has a lot of relaxmood stuff (even the videos) Future Sound of London - hit and miss Air certainly is getting better Ive always wanted to chill out to ZeroSeven, but I cant find any of their albums in the shops (probably cause I cant spell the name correctly )Primal Scream - Screamadelica Mike Oldfield - Ommadawn (showing my age now) |

wow, a perfect thread for me!
![]() Future Sound Of London - Lifeforms (2CD) ...this is an amazing album, at least i think so. Very ambient and if you are in the right mood (however you want to interpret that) then this album can transport you to all sorts of places. A single song now... Shpongle - Divine Moments of Truth - Used in the past year in the popular "flashback" animation on the web, absolutly fantastic tune. Very sorta tribal and organic. If you want things a bit faster and with more of a beat, try any of the psychedelic trance artists. Listening to these tunes with headphones on will surely mess you up, they really do like to take full control of stereo effects! Artists include: Infected Mushroom, Talamasca, Shpongle, Hallucinogen, Dark Soho, Psydrop etc. If you want to quickly sample psytrance then click here - http://www.digitallyimported.com/mp3/goapsy96k.pls - this is a 24/7 live psytrance radio (for people on broadband). The only problem with this radio is sometimes you can get some really crap sounding songs (like at the time of writing now) and other times you can get some utterly mindblowing sounding ones. Sometimes it just sounds really boring and repetitive though ![]() I look forward to what other suggestions are posted here as i love this type of music, i've never heard of Air and will check them out in a mo

Too close to Angel Egg (Radio Gnome Invisible Pt2) Forgot the B side of Meddle by Pink Floyd, then again all of Relics. Quite a bit of early Hawkwind, Caravan (Land of Grey and Pink), early Led Zeppelin, Roy Harper in his quieter moments etc etc (now really showing my age) |

Why NO mentions of "White Rabbit" Jefferson Airplane?
Same goes for "Eight Miles High" by The Byrds... Hmmm "Trippy?" I gotta agree wholeheartedly with bapak about HEAD..please SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've loved this film for eons, for TOO many reasons to tell you here, save for The opening sequence with "The Porpoise Song" it is just INSPIRED! Anybody who has seen HEAD...now try to imagine the pre-release screening? The Record Company execs are there for the freebies et al and then they sit down and watch the film...(tee hee!) WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey er where's the jokes? Where's Davey getting off with the blonde beachgirl??? You're sh**ting us right?Whuddya mean by showing The Monkees as MANUFACTURED? And What's with that grotesque clip of a Viet Cong suspect being shot through the HEAD,jeez guys what's all that about?!! (Poor Execs go into MELTDOWN )A really brave film, trippy doesn't EVEN BEGIN to describe it....IMO 20 yrs avante garde.Don't forget one of my "Tripped Out Faves" Anything by the immortal Chocolate Watch Band (still influencing new bands nearly 40 yrs on) I'll give this thread some more thought.

Not sure about what you call 'trippy' , however I'd suggest an album by scottish electronic music artists 'boards of canada' - music has the right to children.
A very fine album, best listened to late at night, while on long car journeys, or on hills watching the sun set/rise. |

I always end up with Orbital or Ozric Tentacles.... but if I'm feeling super-trippy I go for a bit of stoner (Kyuss, Cathedral... or Isis usually. None of them are that heavy IMHO, but just heavy enough and pretty chilled out at the same time, if that makes any sense!
)....

Virtually anything by the Ozric Tentacles.
Early Porcupine Tree material including 'Voyage 34', 'On The Sunday Of Life', 'Up The Downstair' and 'The Sky Moves Sideways'. The eponymous track from 'Waiting For Cousteau' by Jean Michel-Jarre. 'Shooting at the Moon' - Kevin Ayres and the Whole World Band. |

Arthur Browns Kingdown Come. 'Time Captains'.
