Good to know that there are always members of the Sky squad diligently patrolling the non Sky forums to big up Sky at every opportunity.
Of course, the quoted post does rather give the lie to the oft asserted nonsense that Freesat and Sky are not in competition if Sky can attract potential Freesat users by increasing their sales effort.
The other side of the coin is that whilst they were not 'really pushing the HD boxes' some customers who might otherwise have chosen Sky chose Freesat instead.
However, I think Bob_Cat's explanation is by far the more likely.

Aren't nearly all electronic products discounted from "RRP" IF you shop around ?
The HDR has been findable at around 245-250 level for most of the summer/autumn hasn't it ?
