That's because no one makes "good" Christmas songs any more. They have to resort to the classics.
Roll on "Oh I wish it could be Christmas... everdaaaaaay" and "you scumbag, you maggot, you cheap lousy faggot, merry Christmas you arse, thank God it's our last" Arrrrgh!

I love the old Christmas Classics. They're part of the spirit of it, for me anyway.
It wouldn't surprise me if people give up releasing xmas songs anyway, since the X Factor winner normally occupies top of the charts at christmas anyway. That said, I wouldn't complain if there were some new xmas songs made. Not sure there are many artists this days that would be capable of releasing a classic, unforgettable christmas song, but it would be nice. I don't pay much attention to the charts anyway, but it'd be good to see some fresh, new xmas stuff and sme old classics merged in playlists in the festive season. |

I like the old Christmas songs, cheesy or not, it's part of Christmas and it's fun
I'll no doubt be tired of them all by the time Christmas comes but still it's good to get you into the spirit of it all

I'd agree about the Christmas songs, I can't stand All I Want for Christmas Is You and Slade's merry xmas everyone "so here it is merry christmas, everybody's having fun" awful song.

I absolutely loathe and detest 'Fairytale of New York' and yet it is revered as 'the best Christmas song ever'.
I think not. |

You do know it is possible to like music without liking the person(s) behind it right?
yes, im already sick to death of crimbo songs, slade, wizzard, were around when i was 16 and dispite the fact they are damn good pop crimbo songs they are well past there sell by date. what i dont understand, that in todays very commercial market, no one attempts to make a new crimbo classic. |
