Are there freesat+ twin-recorders that can switch diseqc and timer-record non-freesat

A post elsewhere suggests Panasonic may be about to enable diseqc switching on its freesat tvs and perhaps by extension of the same logic on its freesat+ recorders.
Has anyone been able to verify this? If so it would be good news to have a manufacturer that can produce a diseqc enabled recorder which might actually also be capable of performing a manually set timer recording of non-freesat / other sat programmes which the Humax cannot.
The only other hope is that Technisat will extend the HDFS single-receivers recording functionality to a new twin tuner model with freesat epg.
None of the other freesat+ products from Harvard (goodmans/grundig) or Sagem have diseqc available.

this is the post referred to above

There are the Fortecstar Passion + Innovation receivers which are Freesat compatible. They provide access to the EPG but not the full Freesat specifcations like red button (at least that was the situation a few months ago).

Thanks

The fortec machines have single tuners I believe and as you say I too expect they will not have the additional freesat features (also eg auto retuning/adding of new channels).

The technisat single tuner HDFS update is delayed. Still looking for a freesat+twin tuner with diseqc and nonfreesat timer recording but to no avail.

Have still not seen any news whether Technisat plan to produce a twin tuner model.

btw the panasonic update I mentioned is for a timer stability issue(so no diseqc) as per http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s....php?t=1062400

It is a software update for the Panasonic Freesat Blu Ray recorders - See Here which corrects an issue in timer recordings.

I recon that you could probably build an HTPC using Windows 7 Home Premium which would do what you want.

W7 HP certainly does DiSEqC switching and will get programme schedule data for both UK and (some) foreign channels. The schedule data probably comes from the Internet. It also has all the codecs that you need for HD. My main criticism is that the channel manipulation tools are very poor for large channel lists (3000+ for EB, Astras 1 & 2, Hotbird and AB3.) I have not tried 2 tuner cards, as I just own the one and I don't use that very much, as it share access to an LNB with the 2nd tuner of my HDR.

There is also Mythbuntu but I was less successful at getting that to work properly.
