I don't think they're dire and we haven't got to the finals yet .. there is still time for great improvement.

faves from yesteryear are

Mark and Karen
Alesha and Matt (though she's driving me mad now!!)
Jill and Darren

ooh love it! This is chronologically not in order of preference!

1) Jill Halfpenny - she was, and still is, a stunning dancer. I loved every single one of her dances and I know everyone harps on and on about her jive (which I agree was amazing) but It was not my fave dance of hers. I prefered her Paso, Samba and Cha Cha Cha. If I'm forced to pick one I'll go for the Samba - worth tens IMO!

2) Gethin Jones - still makes me upset that he didn't reach the final, think he may be the most improved contestant on Strictly ever. Beautiful ballroom dances but I'm going for the jive, it still gets me excited! (my fave over all 7 series!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3C_AIBF8qE

3) Lisa Snowdon - hugely unpopular on here and came in for a lot of bitchy and personal comments. Don't know her personally but I found the comments to be unneccessary, cruel and upsetting (excluding the ones made solely about her dancing.) I loved her ballroom more than her Latin and adored her partnership with Brendan. It's hard to pick just one dance but I'll go for the Viennese Waltz - the music, the dress and the dancing were perfect IMO!

Jill Halfpenny - watch thus http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9YW60SHGqs

alesha - I loved all her dances and the music choices were inspired. This AS was very underrated - and only in week 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIJZTwKpTo0

Colin - ahhh the lovely Colin and his quickstep

My top 3 partnerships:

1)Zoe Ball and Ian Waite - favourite dance was the tango but also loved her week 1 waltz
2) Alesha Dixon and Matthew Cutler - favourite dance of theirs was the quickstep
3) Jill Halfpenny and Darren Bennet - predictable I know, but I just loved the jive

Ramps to be boring, Matt di Angelo, just to be controversial, and Chris Hollins, to be totally honest - love the little fella!

1. Darren & Lillia (first one to have the J word and show that macho men can dance)
2. Kelly & Brendan (Her AS was exquisite - I know she was hugely unpopular and scored a controversial '10')
3. Jill & Darren (no other couple has bettered that jive and Jill can still do it more than a year later unlike Alesha)

(I haven't included this series)

Jill Halfpenny and Darren Bennett
John Barnes and Nicole Cutler
Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup.

They also did my top 3 favourite dances - Jill's Paso, John's salsa, Tom's Foxtrot. Although Ali's VW could be added to that now.

I know it got 38 points but I think it's really underrated. I think it suited her personality.

In no particular order:

Zoe and Ian: Tango in particular but was rooting for them all the way.

Louisa and Vincent: Tango and Paso stand out for me. Loved their partnership.

Rachel and Vincent: Loved their Tango (anyone notice a link?) and AT. Loved most of their dances actually.

1/. Gethin and Camilla - The epitome of all that's great about Strictly for me. He started poorly, was very self-conscious and had wooden hips. By the time of their exit in the semi, Geth and Cam had the distinction of producing the only dance on Strictly (their waltz) that actually moved me to tears and I'm not embarassed to say so That, followed by the Salsa, was my greatest ever Strictly night

2/. I can't be bothered with 2 and 3 at the moment tbh...Am off down Memory lane again

Note - B+L's showdance had me in tears as well, now that I think of it

Can I just say it is best not to include links to clips as the BBC pull everything they can.

My Top Three -

1. Ramps

2. Alesha

3. Kenny Logan

Ramps and Alesha thrilled me with every dance and Kenny I just loved to bits as he had such a mountain to climb not even being able to hear the beat in music.

It took me ages to decide on my third place! I was torn between Natasha, Jill, Matt Di, Tish and Louisa and then went for Kenny because he put a smile on my face when he danced and was so lovely with all the others!

I think it's lovely that you chose him because he clearly entertained you enough to be memorable - and that's what it's all about

(Plus it meant you didn't pick Matt )

Wot she said. All of it...

The Jill jive... fab!

Alesha's VW...

Colin's quickstep. Still riles me that Lisa's "slowstep" (beautifully done though it was) now has the record for a qs score.

Honourable mention to Gethin too. I agree with others that he was the most improved dancer from start to finish in both disciplines (but especially Latin) that there's ever been on the show. Stuff Darren Gough. (As a Colin fan I'm not bitter in the slightest...)

Really should watch the overuse of ellipses...

1) Ali and Brian - Their VW is the first time i think i've ever cried at a SCD performance

2) Darren Gough - without whom i would never have been converted from the ITV dark side

3) Mark Ramprakash - because i dreamt of his hips for months afterwards.
