Says it's outrageous that he had to choose between the boys as Laila should have gone home coz she did the worst dance.

I think calling it a 'bash at Laila' is a bit hysterical. It makes it sound personal.

She was the worst dancer on the night so I would expect him to say she should have gone...and with some reason. By an extension of that logic, I think Jade should have gone.

IMO Len was absolutely right.

Did Len use the word 'outrageous'? I thought he expressed a view that she should have gone, but used fairly moderate language.

I agree thats a massive over-reaction! He said it how it was- Laila chose to dance and had therefore put herself forward to the vote.

Jade's situation was different as explained by Claudia so she may be in Laila's situation next week.

Luckily Laila has a waltz this week coming whilst Jade has a rumba so I know who's shoes it may be preferable to be in!

I agree with Len. Does that mean I've had a bash at Laila too?

He tries to appear "statesmanlike," when to me when he speaks, he reminds me of Mr Hodges, the air raid warden in Dad's Army.

I'm sure he's marked other dancers in previous series; "bearing in mind their past performance" when on an occasion they hadn't done well.

The dance off itself is a nonsense. They've already been marked once. So just take the scores the judges have already given them. As Len has the casting vote, it makes the dance off even more of a nonsense.

Maybe next year; "The best of three?"
(I hope Jay hunt isn't reading this).

What I love about this programme is the inconsistencies.

I know where Len was coming from but surely he must recognise that had Laila not been hampered by injury, she would probably have performed better than either of the boys.

I think she's a better overall dancer than Ricky and Tuffers and the public decided to give her another chance.

It was hardly a travesty that she advanced.

I think saying, my saying ,aving a bash, is a bit hysterical is a bit hysterical in itself LOL

From ITT tonite if Laila had not of danced she would have been out, so chose to dance but only to stay in the competition she was given no choice of a by.

Even if you're right, there's not much wrong in fighting fire with fire occasionally.

Haven't seen ITT yet so probably not in the best position to comment, but didn't Len pretty much save Ali on the basis that he thought she would have done better if she hadn't been injured?

Is he perhaps more annoyed that he didn't get to make the decision as he did in Ali's case?

So is Len gonna go through the platitude of telling us every week that the bottom two on the judges' leaderboard should be in the dance-off? If the answer's yes, he should just stop wasting air and go straight to arguing he wants the public vote element removed ... in which case he won't need to fly back and forth between the UK and US every week and get so tired, cos the UK show will soon get cancelled.

Sorry I didn't see ITT so don't quite understand this. If Jade could have a bye for being injured why couldn't Laila?

Is it because the dr said she could dance if she wanted to?

Possibly the most annoying thing about the dance-off is the head judge status afforded to Len, seems to make him think he's in charge and that his opinion is the most important there is

So really they need to write down what they say each week, because they change their opinions from so often. I think Len cornered himself the most this week with the 'I just choose from the dance-off' when he so blatantly doesn't!!

As for Laila...well pah Len she's still here!!

Hmm bear that in mind when you hear what Katya had to say on ITT tonight.....

Yes,it was her choice and she had performed enough of the dance to be marked

Len said that both Zoe and Ali made mistakes in their dance-off dances and he was judging it based on that. You or I may think that's bullshit (I know I do) but in terms of what he's admitting to, he's not being inconsistent.

Oh, do you mean if she had got into the dance off and hadn't danced rather than not having danced in the show?

Personally I'm quite glad she wasn't in the dance off. Even as a massive Jade and Ian fan I'd have found it really unfair that Laila was injured, danced and then got eliminated where as Jade didn't dance and if she's ok for next week gets to dance.

No if she'd chosen not to dance in the main show she would have forfeited her place.

I'm not too sure about that, maybe if it was another dance but her rumba didn't look great in training.

I thought it looked surprisingly good when Craig commented on it during the Friday panel (I was very skeptical beforehand) - she certainly seemed to have got to grips with the movement and technique of the Rumba - and I liked the little we did see of it on Saturday.

The question was whether she would be able to be as convincing at selling it as she was with the Paso.....

Still, I reckon she would have got a row of 8's which would have placed her above Ricky and Tuffers.

I because the BBC obviously prefer Jade to Laila for whatever reason
