Need a new TV but some guideance required please...
I am after a LCD TV for my spare room where I have a running machine. This is to take away the bordem whilst jogging, however I have a few specific requirements:-
1. The TV needs to be loud so that I can hear it whilst jogging. I don't want to have to purchase another amp or external speakers if I can get a TV that is loud enough. The sounds quality doesn't need to be anything amazing just loud enough without distortion. 2. It only needs an aerial sockets connection as is having a Sky magic eye connected. 3. It needs to take a standard wall mounted bracket 4. It needs to be about 15" to 19" max 5. It needs to be in a budget of about £100 to £150 6. I would like it to be connectable to PC VGA, DVI or HDMI if possible but not essential 7. HD Ready but not essential as Sky magic eye is the connector / 8. Small profile and fairly thin so its close to the wall As you can see the main objective is how loud the TV can go without external AMP or speakers, therefore if you can advise I would be much appreciated. Thanks |

as you probably know, the speakers in these TV's are generally fairly poor / tinny... probably because they use they smallest speakers they can find and cram them into a tiny frame.
Maybe you could go into an electrical store and have a look at a few sets, ask if they'll give you a few demo's of sound quality? |

The best solution is to use a pair of wireless headphones. I use a pair when vacuuming the lounge to relieve the tedium

Are there any wireless headphones that you can recommend?
Are they generally compatible with all TV's and devices or are there any additional requirements to get them to work? |

Wireless headphones should be compatible with any TV as long as it has some form of audio output. This could be a dedicated headphone socket, a pair of Audio Out phonos or even using a SCART adapter.
The transmitter for the headphones plugs into the audio out. But will also require a mains supply. Just as an external speaker/amp set-up so don't know if this is an issue or not. Plus of course somewhere to mount the transmitter unit. A pair of these would do the job very nicely http://cpc.farnell.com/sennheiser/rs...110/dp/AV10375 |

I just use in-ear headphones from Sony, they stay in very well while training. I do have thin extension lead.
And as for TV, I just use my laptop....I can stick discs in it, and I have a collection of motivating music videos etc... (I'm not telling you which ones, I've said too much already !!!) |

Can you even get wireless in-ear headphones due to the small size? I like the ones linked in this post but they seem quite large and when jogging they may get sweaty.. |

what about amplified wireless speakers, which could be placed in a more convenient location?
