It's not what you politically correct it's civil discourse you don't throw around references that are clearly offensive. Politically correctness belongs to politics where they don't offend the elecotorate and lose votes. What was posted here was just plain insult, strewth. It doesn't matter that is formerly was a toy everyone knows without doubt that it no longer has that connatation, and putting it in quotes isn't really a get out clause. I'm not going to the mods but I'm just saying. Dear me.

The reason my reaction was strong is because I guess I'm a little hyper sensitive after following American politics lately. Things over there have calemd down for the moment but it still worries me some.

She's always had a moustache.
I liked Janice Dickinson's 'why does she have a beak?' comment. Ok, Janice is one to talk but she owns up to her surgery and knows when to stop. I know Katie owns up to her surgery too but she clearly doesn't know when to stop. Its sad because its got to the stage of actually looking like a cartoon character.
I dont find the use of the word itself offensive, I know it as an advertising toy/character, I was brought up with it and never once thought about it being an assimily of any particular group of people or race.
Chilhood has great innocence, its the flaming adults that ruin it by bringing up their own prejudices. Should we also ban Betty Boo for characterising all white women in a detrimental way.
