I don't think she's ever expected to be given the tango. On her website she merely implies that they'd enquired about it because she knew she'd only have a day to train if the injury panned out as her physio expected. She even says afterwards that they didn't yet know if it was allowed.

It's futile for me to pursue this further. I expect she will be allowed to dance her tango but it will mean that SCD will have been further undermined.

That made me laugh! How on earth does that undermine Strictly? It's an entertainment show and, if her Tango is even half as good as we've heard, it will be entertaining.

Nobody else gets hurt, nobody suffers, but hey "SCD will have been further undermined".

Can you really not see how funny this is?

Do be careful dismounting from your horse, it must be all of 18 hands high.

I dare say they probably have and just haven't announced it. With the show so close they probable won't announce anything until Jade does or doesn't walk down the steps.

I think she'll withdraw but dance the much-talked-about tango with Ian as a 'farewell' performance!

Why would she withdraw if she is able to dance?

I'd bet that they will tell us on the show and not before.

I know the feeling.

Very poorly handled, whatever the motive.

3. Claudia said that if Jade danced this week she would be dancing the rhumba. This is in accordance with the rules of the competition.
4. Jade said on her website that she hoped to dance the tango.
5. As far as we know they have not trained this week. Ian is a good teacher so I'm sure Jade already knows the basic rhumba steps but will not have prepared a routine. If she does dance it is almost certain to be the tango as she already has a costume for this.
6. Although we didn't get to see the tango, Jade got the same result as she would have done at the top of the leaderboard.
She can always choose to dance it later.

Now for opinion. My opinion is that it is unfair to other competitors to bend the rules to accommodate Jade and, yes, it did lower my regard for her that she seemed to expect this.”

I take it you`ve seen this rule book you allude to?

.

Because if the BBC medical advisor says no then their not going to chance it.....No matter what Jade or her physio says/wants; if she suffers a serious injury tonight that puts an end to her competing at the highest level she will be advised to sue the BBC by a compensation Lawyer....The BBC can`t then say that Jade agreed to Dance if their medical advisor said no....It`s all about insurance.......I could harp on about this all night.I`am a Dentist and Medical insurance companies are notoriously cautious...So much so that even in the face of overwhelming clinical evidence they have for years advised certain precautions prior to treatment for patients with a variety of medical problems.....even though there was no clinical basis for those precautions.....They do this because they are fully aware that the one in a million complication that may occur will result in them having to fork out a huge sum of money.....Insurance companies have been dictating treatment regimes for years.....and yes...this has meant that patients have been given medication prior to treatment that they have not needed because an insurance company has insisted upon it....The regulations have been eased slightly in the last year or two....but it`s been known for about 10-15yrs that drugs have been give just to keep the insurance companies happy and to cover our backs as clinicians

Now people can treat this with a hundredweight of salt but there's a poster on the Beeb SCD site saying she's Ian's aunty Pat (Green) sister of Ian's dad, Alan (Waite) & that she and Ian's nan had a text at 12.00 saying Jade probably wasn't going to dance.

Legit or not - who knows - but we'll all find out whether they're going to dance in just over one hour's time.

Thanks for telling us Apricot. I was wondering if someone 'in the know' would be on here to tell us, last week someone posted on here about Jade and Laila's injuries before the show.

Yes, but in that situation she would not be allowed to dance a farewell dance either. I get that the BBC might forbid her to dance and can understand why, but I was responding to someone who said they thought she would not compete, but still dance the Tango as a farewell dance. Surely if she cannot compete, whether it be her decision or the BBC's, she cannot do a farewell dance either.

Should be a nice surprise for the whole family when they DO dance then, and proceed to knock everyone's socks off

She's on the boards now saying she doesn't know for sure -

"lol we dont tell him that , i hope she will dance it give my mum pleasure to watch ian dance as she 86 years old , she brought him up since he was 9 , all she what is to see him win strictly before any thing happens to her"

I don't know what would possess anyone to troll pretending to be someone's aunty but maybe I'm just naive

And got accused of being a troll for his trouble as I remember. I think those 'in the know' have been burnt once too often to divulge info publicly on this forum.
