HDR was on BBC2 (nothing recording, nothing planned) I meant to chage to Clubland TV (channel 514) to have on in the background. I press 5 and then my door starts opening and this distracts me. As I turn to see who is coming in I was expecting the HDR to cancel and remain on BBC 2 however out of the corner of my eye I see the channel change and it had switched to channel 5.

Tried numerous times to replicate but can't get it to do it again. Very odd

Had you been watching Ch5 prior to watching BBC2? If so, is it possible that you might have accidentally pressed the 'back' button?

Don't think so (can't be a 100% certain though). Pressing back does nothing as far as I can see as I have just tried it.

If you have the Info-Plate up (or whatever it is they call it ) the back button will return you to the previous channel viewed.

I recall someone saying in an earlier thread about the 'best changes since the update' that he was pleased he could now change channels by pushing a single number instead of the three numbers we are used to selecting.

I recall this from a thread about desired updates and thought it would be a good idea, was happy to have heard it had been implemented, but i'll be damned if i can get it to work either!

Maybe you and he have magic boxes?

It was me and I was being sarcastic that such a small and simple change was not possible!

Or wasn't even implemented in the first launch. Shame sarcasm can't be portrayed in emails the way it can via speech! It was just a quick glance across the threads when i saw it too!
