For the last couple of weeks, after the last update I guess (25 Oct, 1.00.11, U7.52, 3768.0000) the guide in the Foxsat HDR has become a tad tedious to use. The wife started complaining "why has it started doing this!" because she occasionally gets the reserve/record menu when pressing OK, even when the box should just switch to the selected channel. I had it a few times as well but brushed it aside as a minor grief, but now I've had enough. Just minutes ago (at 22:02 to be precise) I pressed "Guide" as I wanted to switch to Channel 4 news (which according to the guide started at 22:00) with the "OK" button, and got...:

"Record"
"Record whole series"
"Watch"

You might argue that it's not a big deal that I have to arrow down twice to press "Watch" but that's not the way it used to work, that's not the way I want it to work, and I'm a lazy bum who wants to keep my keypresses to a minimum.

So, what's happened to my Foxsat and the ability to quickly and with no fuss choose what I want to watch from the program guide? Will the next software update ask me to confirm "Are you SURE you want to watch THAT???" Or should I just switch to Sky+ and leave these worries behind?

I think you're being a bit premature!- there's no problem here.

If you press 'OK' on a programme that isn't currently airing, you get the menu up. If you press 'ok' on a programme that is currently airing (i.e. the one selected by default when you scroll to a channel) then it'll switch to the channel.

"Watch" doesn't mean change to that channel by the way, it sets it up as a timer to automatically change to that channel when that programme comes on.

I've noticed a related problem since the update that when you watch programs live back to back you can be several minutes into the next program before the iPlate information updates.

So you can bring up the iPlate and it will sometimes show you the title of the previous program (that you have watched) and the strat and end times shown on the right will be that of the previous program yet the time on the iPlate will be correct (i.e. several minutes past the end time of the program it is showing the info for on the iPlate).

Edit: As I type this the HDR is on ITV and the iPlate is showing the time as 23:39 yet the program info is for "In the Line of Fire" from 23:35 to 23:35 and it is has not changed to the current program being shown.

Further Edit: iPlate info just updated to show the correct info at 23:40 (i.e. Nightwatch 23:35 to 00:30).
