I'll see your *sigh* and raise you one!

TBH, I only thought of it because we've got someone at work who has been signed off but wants to come back because he is so bored at home. Can't be done though.

Look the whole thing is turning into a farce.

I have been criticised for objecting to all this nonsense but I think as the weekend moves on more and more people will start to agree with my cynicism

I think that's called 'wishful thinking'

You have turned this whole situation into a farce - why don't you accept that a lot of people just don't agree with you?

A lot didn't at the start of the week but if you go and view Jade's injury update thread you will see that more and more are getting fed up with this farce

Is that true?
In that case, in the dim and distant past I (along with my employers) broke the law
Maybe the law has changed in the last 15 years - I certainly hope so

And there's the additional question that if you don't know its safe on Friday how on earth could you be sure on Saturday. This sort of problem isn't going to have changed that fast and there's no new scan they are waiting for results from. If its serious enough to raise doubt the day before, you can't dance. If its not, why create the doubt.

Either she can't do it and they knew she wouln't be able to days ago or she will dance and get through on a sympathy vote regardless of how fit she is. Either it will then improve enough for her to do better next week and she will carry the sympathy/heroine vote towards the final or she will stay the same and probably still stay or it get worse and cause her carer problems.

However you look at it she either risks something she shouldn't risk or the show voting and who leaves is distorted by her injury. Its not her fault and she's being (too) brave but someone should have said no days ago and not kept things running on.

the injuries to Jade and Laila have as good as killed this series. Up to last Sat, it was heating up into one of the most exciting SCDs, but the injuries, the sympathy vote, Tuffers unjust exit... it's ruined things.
We now have 3 incredibly average contestants who have over-stayed their welcome in Groves, Hollins and Cassidy. And the 2 who looked like they were capable of upsetting the front 2 - Jade and Laila - have both been injured, unable to train, and both look like their time is now numbered.
It all points to an Ali vs Ricky W final, which I find an incredibly dull prospect.

I can't believe it is beyond the wit of the BBC to do something to avoid this, now common, risk of a two person final.

I would prefer that we see all the competitors dance a ballroom and a latin at the beginning of the competition before they eliminate anybody and then have some double evictions down the line around the quarter/semi final stages so that if people have to drop out due to injury or other personal reasons they can return to single evictions to keep a three person final intact.

I reckon for future SCD they should have one less week and then in the semi final eliminate 2 so if 1 goes early trough injury you can still get a 3 person final by eliminating only 1 at the semi final stage

Or, if someone has to withdraw, don't have an elimination that week. Add the votes up and add them to the leaderboard for the week after - perfect.

We've been through this so many times.
Why there is no back-up plan for illness/injury is beyond me.

But the 2-couple final DOES NOT WORK.

Yes but I think they like he drama and suspense of someone leaving every week.

My way that still happens

Yes, I suppose so.

Just as long as there are three couples in the final, I'm happy. (Well, I'd also like to dictate which couples, but... )

Makes sense to me - the problem is all these shows are stuck on the weekly eviction idea as a hangover from when they used to make significant money on it. It also fills another half hour every week.

I was looking at marks on wiki the other day and I think it was 6 people who stayed longer than Martina who never matched her round one top mark - just one waste of a celebrity of many.

I don't think Jade has an unfair advantage over Laila as her injury is/might a sight worse than a twisted ankle. I feel Laila made much more of it than was necessary whilst Jade wants to carry on but this mighten be the wisest course of action as an athlete.
Laila is playing victim where Jade's is a serious decision to make.
Not sure of the rules about dancing a previous weeks set routine but surely they have both learnt their basic dance steps so I'm sure they could have been able to pick up a new routine, even if they both just walked it through.
I don't support either of them just in case anyone thinks I'm biased here.

I guess in the end of the day justice prevailed

Good Luck mind Jade for your nice competition

What is her 'nice' competition - the Olympics perchance?

Well, Laila's milking the injury for all it was worth backfired on her this week. I bet Anton was shocked to end up in the dance off.

Good luck Jade: the show is the poorer for yours and Ian's forced departure.

Totally agree.
I said elsewhere, Laila just went through the motions whereas Ricky G gave it all tonight.
Never thought I'd say it even as late as Friday there but, Laila should have gone and Ricky should have stayed tonight.

Totally agree that she should have gone tonight. Not because she was the worse dancer but, it does seem as if conning the public every week. Initially I put a lot of her "forgetting" the routines down to Anton's training but, I now feel she wants to get to the final without putting in the effort and hard work it requires. I now really feel sorry for Anton as it would appear he's been landed with another "turkey" this year.
